Anyway to disable right click to rotate the camera?

Really should have made this thread when the first Sins was released as it has always bugged me.

I much prefer a rather static view throughout the course of the entire game, and having right click to rotate the camera always causes me to accidentally mess up the camera angle occasionally when right clicking to enable auto-explore on scouts and other stuff. Is there any .ini file somewhere to edit so i can delete this "hotkey", or perhaps even remove camera rotating alltogether?

If there is, its probably it the hotkey menu in the option. You can also set a hotkey to reset the camera angle I think.

Unfortunately there is no such hotkey anywhere, not to spinning the camera, nor to reset the angle.

It'd be very difficult to play this game on one static view.  You'd still need to zoom on the off occasion.  Regardless, zoom-to-cursor is a nice option to have on.  Helps with navigation.

Well, try going to "My Documents", "My Games", "Ironclad Games", "SoaSE Rebellion", then settings. The files in that folder can be opened with notepad, and if the option exists it is probably in there.

As for the camera angle reset, I guess I found that feature in the developer build of the game and assumed it could be done on a general hotkey.

Of course i zoom! The game would be impossible without it, haha
Rotation is not zoom

I did find it.
In rebellion.camera.setting in C:\Users\Baleur\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Setting

it would be really nice if there was something like a "Mouse Camera Swap" checkbox in the UI options that inverted the rotate/pan buttons (MMB to rotate, RMB to pan). That setup feels way more intuitive IMO. Obviously there are more important issues at the moment, but it would be great to see something like this added in a later patch.

It is indeed horrible.

 

The game does not feel very mature. Feels in many ways that it's stuck 15 years behind other games in certain crustal aspects of daily play like this. Who is the project leader of this game? Surely some who has no experience of games but perhaps the girlfriend of the boss at Ironclad games?

Also, the fact the when I do right click, it always feels inverted, I can't get the angles right, is horrible. Then the fact that there is no default key to press makes me feel like this games budget was very slim and there is an inbreed culture at the company of incest. The most obvious of controls are not fixed, I dont see another reason behind this than that. A mature company would not allow such a product to be released on the market before extensive testing of all features. How did this product make it past game revives? Did this company bribe some people to ignore it's big simple crucial shortcomings?
