Coronata Subjugation bug?

Hi!

I tried out the new SA tonight and found some strange results. It was really sweet for the first two points and around points 3 and 4 I never noticed it working ever again. I even farmed the pirate base for a free level 7 and didn't get one conversion.

I thought maybe the pirates were immune, but even after that in enemy engagements I never got a conversion again. Maybe a bug? I wouldn't say I tested it extensively (once the number of enemy frigates waned I just switched back to full damage), but it seemed odd I saw good results early on but absolutely zero results later. Could be just chance.

The fact that I can't see any other posts makes me believe I'm just unlucky, but I thought it worthy of a post just in case.

Results found: to get around the fleet supply restriction, you can just start researching the next fleet tier and cancel it before finishing. Seems like it might be an unintended bug.

You sure your fleet supply wasn't used up?  Subjugating Assault will only steal ships if you have enough available fleet supply to support them.

Did you have spare fleet supply? I don't think subjugating assault can convert ships if it would use more than your available fleet supply.

Good question. I am fairly sure on at least one big battle I had ample fleet supply, but it's very likely I had more than 0 on most occasions (I usually leave at least 10 available in case I want to build a SB).

On a further note, when it WAS working earlier in the game I definitely went into the negative, so I don't think it's the case anyway. (maybe that was a bug too though)

Hey so I know this post is old, but in case anyone is interested... I did some testing to make sure I wasn't crazy.

  • It seems that, as stated in this thread, you cannot convert units if you don't have available fleet supply
  • You CAN convert and go into negative fleet supply if you are actively researching the next fleet upgrade (thus how I saw conversions and went negative)
  • If you cancel the fleet upgrade after gaining the new conversions, you still keep the conversions

TLDR: to get around the fleet supply restriction, you can just start researching the next fleet tier and cancel it before finishing. Seems like it might be an unintended bug.

It might be an unintended 'feature'.  I see nothing wrong with floating a fleet supply upgrade worht of cash to supply block yourself...
