Getting low fps even in 1vs1 battles(on a quad core pc)

Ok i have no idea how can this happen especially in this game but i am getting <15 fps in almost every battle that has medium size forces and i am talkign about 1vs1 battles, my specs are:

win7 ultimate 64bit

8gb ddr3 ram 1333

1gb ddr3 gts 250

core2quad 2.33(overcloacked to 2.8)

And the funny thing is i am getting <15 fps no metter if  i change everything on lowest graphical settings or highest, in a battles where there are around 25 ships on both sides fps drops below 15 always.

Anyone can tell how to fix this since its obviously the game's fault, like i said low or high settings make 0 difference.

Sins is single-threaded so having a multicore PC will not help.

they should make it multithreaded becausse almost every 1 has singl makes game goes boom after a couple of units

So it doesn't metter that i have 8gb of ram? So a game that comes out in 2012 and it is still single-threaded cpu based, just wow....

So is there any way i can fix this? Like i said changing settings to low doesn't help one bit.

Trim your empire tree.

Change the affinity to one core the game is running on.

Try this on your computer, only ten days left before they start charging for this freeware....

End of Pacerot's quote

RAM most directly influences how much different stuff the game can load, I.e. ship textures, models, icons etc. Having more RAM means you can have more of this stuff, though Sins won't ever use that much RAM. The CPU is the one that has to do all the calculation for movement, damage, abilities etc.

Now days CPU is the main lag causer with Sins. You aren't going to get a whole lot of befit from additional cores beyond two. Two pretty good cores is a heck of a lot better for this game than 4 mediocre ones, even if the four have more power combined. This is because the Engine its using was first made in 2007 where quad cores were not very common.

Basically all you can do is try to decrease the number of things displayed. Turn off all the auto pinnings on your Empire tree and please make sure its stacked. Turn of trade ship icons and if you can try to avoid building strikecraft and mines. There is also plans for an optimization mod that could help.
