ICO and all games today have big lags. This is not just me but all players complaining same issue.

I'm just making the assumption that ICO is having issues with Rebellion's popularity. Not sure what's different this time around. Back in 2008 I got my long-preorded copy of Sins and none in my circle of friends really cared.
Fast forward to today, where my brother for some reason got into it ("Have you heard of this game?"). My friend sees us playing on steam, so he buys it. Another friend sees the three of us and he buys it. Then my bro's GF buys it too.
I haven't heard my friends talk about losing an entire night to a game in ages. Good work. Please make ICO happy.

I'm from Melbourne Australia using TPG as my ISP.
I find that every time i try and join a game, no matter what time of the day i get pings of over 500 and some times as high as 10,000. I haven't been able to play a game for at least 3 days because the lag is so bad people either leave or demand i do.
I've been an avid customer since 09 and even though i pirate most other games i ought this cause i love it so much.
Please help i want to play online.
I've noticed MAJOR mid to late game lag on ICO playing with my brother and co-worker (who only lives a few miles away). Lag where the game pauses for several seconds, one time as long as 30 seconds seems to be happening.
I've experienced with both Rebellion and Trinity/Diplomacy.
LAN games play perfectly with ZERO lag so I'm wondering about the servers.
