How to Fight against The Maw

I tried with TEC, and only found Dunovs (Lv 4) are not fast enough to remove all the anti-matters from Vorastra. It seems when facing against The Maw, a severe loss is inevitable.

I think even carriers can't escape the fate of doom, since Vorastra can jump directly before their noses and use The Maw.

So, how do you deal with that huge vacuum cleaner? Or at least, how to control the loss as less as possible? Thanks!

There isn't a real counter to the mini phase jump and Vorastra maw.

If the Vorastra even gets to level 6 then I think you have to re-examine your play style because it's the weakest of the titans before level 6. Alternatively you can just send capitals and titans to it alone big problem is that the Vorastra is accompined by a fleet always.

Keep your frigates moving. The maw has a bit of a harder time against targets already in motion.

If you see a LV 6 vorastra spread your frigs apart. Once the maw is active it cant move and it only lasts ten seconds.

Sprint for your Kodiaks use the TECs superior capital maneuvering to keep the Maw wheeling about...break up fleets and mass only cheap and dispensable units to draw fire from the more important ones...LRFs kept in motion and at range...watch the facing of the Maw and anticipate what positions it might microwarp to...have a backup element to move in once the Maw is used...hit it with ability disrupting attacks.

If your about to get eaten then your going to get eaten.

{You should have killed it before it reached level 6)

Best way to deal with the Maw is spamming massive amounts of corvettes. Assuming the one using the titan doesn't have it backed up with Sentinels...

If that is the case, well, you should try to lure the titan into one of your defended gravity wells and hope for the best.

Might be hard with the TEC, but just use the Vasari and build a couple of Kortul Devastators and level them up so they have ability disrupting and shield recharging abilities only and they can take care of the antimatter and take a beating. Then send in the rest of your fleet to pound it home. But a lot of the other ways to beat the Vorastra posted here work well too.

Thanks guys, so the only way is to keep moving? But I think the splash damage may also hurt... maybe.

Well when fighting with 7 AI FFA everything can happen ^_^

The biog trick is to get the Vasari player to "prematurely maw" on disposable forces and then hit it hard while it is maw-less.

Ummm... so you are suggesting to "dispose" some flaks and corvettes? Because they are cheap enough? OK I will try, thank you.

That may work on an ai but no human player is gonna waste the maw on such craft unless there is a lot there, or they forgot to turn autocast off. ;)

I would use a group of cruisers and lrf frigs as sacrifices and then hit with the bulk of my forces after, but you need to make the baitr look enticing enough for the other player to use it.

IF your advent you can use the Illums illusion ability to make it seem like their are more of them then there are at first glance so an enemy might try and use the jump maw combo to take out what seems like a massive amount of Illums when in reality most of them are fake and the real ones are hiding in a adjacent grav well.
