want to patch game on Comp that does not have internet.

I'm trying to play LAN games with a friend who's comp does not have the internet. is there anyway to patch the one installed on his computer without having to go on the internet?  We're both using my copy of Sins Trinity edition and want to play with the mods as Vanilla Sins gets boring after a bit. The mods we want to play are only for latest version of diplomacy, so is there a way to patch his up?

I don't think there is...

Your friend would have to use your account to update his copy of the game, but I believe you must have internet to update games.

You could get around that by putting the entire game, including the mod folders, onto a USB drive.  I would reccomend at least a 4 gigabyte USB drive, because Sins itself takes up 2 gigabytes, and mod folders and such could add maybe .01 gigabyte.

Hypothetically, according to the liscense (pages 60 and 61 of the manual), you weren't supposed to give the software to your friend in the first place.

I quote:

"YOU MAY NOT Sublicence, rent, or lease the SOFTWARE or any portion of it."

No one seems to read the license anymore... except me.

right thanks, thought of the USB method will try that. I did read that it could support 2 people using the same game so I thought it would be alright to let him have it on his comp, its not like he's going online with it.

Yeah I think what you were trying to do was okay with the license. As to the offline computer, there was a sort of way to do it with Impulse, but I'm not sure if that feature is still supported with Gamestops takeover.

Fortunately I have never been accused of being an idiot. When trying to multiplayer with the same CD key I read the agreement and any related things to see if its allowed, no point in getting in trouble or the key banned. It didn't work anyway kept on asking to register it, which is impossible on a comp with no internet access.
