i put this up in the ICO account management page over three months ago because i didnt want to make a whole new thread just for this. i still have no answer.

i have had to reinstall sins original off the disc, upgrade to ver 1.05 and install 7ds 2.1 just to have a working game.

Firstly, your doing it wrong. vanilla sins is up to like 1.19 or so.

 

Secondly. buy rebellion. no one plays vanilla, or entrenchment, or diplomacy anymore.

 

Thirdly, once you buy rebellion, sins now runs though steam. so activate though there, and then run though offline mode.

If its already activated you should be able to just download/upgrade by putting the email address you used to register the game.

Contact [email protected] and they should be able to help you get up to date. Version 1.05 is years out of date and the activation in that version may work differently than it does today.

i know 1.05 is waaaaayyyyyy out of date, lol.

at the time it was all i could think of to get back to a working game.

i'll download the new trinity and see if i can get it running at home.  :drool:

got it home, uninstalled old version, installed new trinity, went to play game....and got a popup thing that wants me to enter:

account email adress

password

serial number

 

when i clicked on 'locate serial number' the program tried to go online.

i'm gonna assume the other options require an internet connection, also.

once again i ask, how can i get this working offline? (no internet connection)

the online is one time only to activate, the serial number is the one from your stardock account, and the account info is your stardock account(the email address you registered your trinity with so you could download the latest), and your stardock password.

but your information would be more useful to me if i actually had an internet conection.

as i suspected, i entered the required info, hit 'register' and the program tried to go online.

completely useless to me....

as i stand now, i dont have sins 1.05 (uninstalled)

and i dont have latest trinity (cant activate/register/whatever...)

whoever decided to add this "feature" that requires an online connection to get a working game should be shot.

i, for one, am not impressed.

the last time i downloaded the full sins trinity installer was (i beleive) from impulse off my 'registered' copy.

took that home and installed it onto my 'no internet connection' computer, and i had a fully working game with absaloutely NO NEED  to go online for ANYTHING other than updating my game!

 

seriously, wtf happened? am i really going to be forced to mothball this game untill i get an internet connection?
