Countering the Corsev?

Countering the Corsev?

Alright, I ran up against someone that used the Corsev as their opening capship, and used it well, for the first time the other night. He had nothing but a Corsev and a host of light frigates. I had a pair of Sovas and some LRMs. In my mind, it should've been GG, since bombers > Corsev, and LRMs > light frigates... but it didn't play out that way. Demolition team blew up swaths of my LRMs, the Corsev easily tanked two capships and their attendant bombers' worth of damage with salvage operations, and he just kept streaming in more light frigates, which worked because I couldn't keep my LRMs alive long enough to dent his numbers due to the AoE.

At this point, I'm left thinking "Why are there uncapped AoEs at level 1, and why would they put a self-heal on the same ship as one of these abilities?"

I am something of a noob, I'll be honest, but I was hoping for suggestions on a viable counter for this that isn't just "build a Corsev too"?

The Corsev is like a grizzly bear....when you see a grizzly bear, you throw shit in its face...where do you get the shit, you might ask?  Trust me, you see a grizzly bear (or Corsev), it'll be there....

Just finished skilled game with guy using Corsev as opener and I got owned big time.

Took me tons of feed and spamming fully upgraded turrets in my grav wells instead of having big fleet. Was still loosing.

If skilled is using it it is like titan, Do not approach with fleet unless you can drain it AM. Unfortunately for that you need 2 dunovs.....

Perhaps either aoe damage should be reduced or salvage operations not be passive so you can focus fire and kill it....

From RR:

Demolition Team: AM cost increased from 85 at all levels to 105/100/95/90.

Salvage Operations: when target is not boarded, hull absorbed reduced from 10%/15%/20%/25% to 4%/10%/16.5%/25%; boarded hull absorption is unchanged.

Elite Crews: prevents target ship from being disabled from non-ultimate disables
