Lurkers List

This is a list of the players who I've encountered on multiplayer that won't leave a game even though the rest of their teammates have and there is no way they can win. I will update it as i encounter more.

Well, one time on StarCraft II my main base was destroyed, but I had a backup base.  With "dormant" factories, soldiers, and workers.  It was well hidden and well defended.  With this secret base, I destroyed the Empire... er, I mean Zerg.

EDIT: If you didn't get that Star Wars joke, my faith in humanity just lessened a little bit.  If you got it and didn't think it was funny, it's ok, I didn't either.

Also, on most strategy games, I keep a couple of Transports filled with workers and soldiers at the least, and epic secret bases at the most.

My point is, don't just assume someone is down because you crippled them.  You ever hear about that blind kid with ecoloction, or the armless guy with the robotic hand?  Or that monkey that does math?

Those guys are crippled, and they went and got all badass and stuff.  Except the monkey, he was always badass.

I find fighting "fire with fire" helps. That is, when a player won't quit but instead walks away from the keyboard and just leaves my allies and me sitting there... hoping we will quit... I then get pissed off, then stay calm, then go to bed. Usually I come back 15-18 hours later, and by then the non-quitting player has quit.  :D   That is always very satisfying.

By the way, what do you have to do to actually defeat the bad guys.... killing all planets is not enough [known from personal experience]... and I have been told that killing all units does the trick, but I think I have done this and still the game does not end...

It would be good to see another victory condition added to the game. For instance, when the bad guys are reduced to 1% relative fleet or 1% relative income or some such limiting condition, then there is a "domination victory". This could be used in all on-line MP games.
