Stop all the pirates...

I love what the team has done with Rebellion.  They have listened to my request to limit the number of pirates that accumulate and remain in the base (which built-up into the thousands over a long game), not including the ones that spawn to attack.  Kudos.

But as I am a cheating "cruel" or  "vicious" A.I. only gamer with this, I wonder if there could be a limit on the amount of pirates swarms a player can buy.  Mid to late game,  a dominate A.I. will spam pirate purchases obscenely.  If there are a limit on superweapons, there should be a time limit on how and when pirate missions can be purchased.  This works to my advantage when i'm TEC because effectively, an A.I. is basically buying me protection.  And if i'm another race, I just have have to work to destroy the pirate base before the spamming begins, which is reasonable.

It just seems ridiculous to have a pirate attack every 30 seconds.  And by the way, the A.I. seems to be getting better.  Nice work.

So..  You're complaining that the hard AI's are too hard..  Umm..  Isn't that the idea?

>_>

No...i'm actually playing a game right now where it's wonderful that i'm getting so many pirates.  It's helping me win.  I was getting clobbered.  No ally against 3 (the survivors of 9 cheating A.I.s) fully developed A.I.s.  Every time I take down a fleet, they are back with another full fleet in 5 minutes.  And as TEC, if the pirates were causing me trouble, i'd just Nova the pirate base and that would take care of it.

I'm mentioning it for balance sake. And an A.I. improvement...perhaps to make the A.I. aware that I have a truce with the pirates.  They obviously wouldn't spam them if they "knew" that they were doing me no harm.  Plus it cuts down on the amount of units in the game.  If I have 15 planets with 100 pirates at every planet doing nothing...some times I get bad pausing mid-game.

*edit*

Here's a screen of what i'm talking about.  Check the scroll bar on the left...all my planets are swarmed with pirates.  I'm going to take out the pirate base anyway even though the spam is helping me...it's just too many pirates.

*redit*

forget it...truce can't take the pirates out...stuck with them.  darn it...well the game's unplayable now.

So I take it the TEC have the ability to research neutrality with the pirates.

As is my vision quest with these forums, I'm trying to keep the pirates a competitive part of the A.I. game, without having them get out of control.  Fighting pirates and rebels along with the other threats keeps this game interesting to me in the early stages.

Seems like all my threads are about the darn pirates.

Another MP player.  Trolololololo.

Another Multi player player? hmm... doth think your engrish is failing.

as i've said before you do not balance a game around single player, it's retarded.

sadly I've had this issue as well, i think you should just get taken off the bidding list for pirates since they cant hurt you.

MP and SP are totally different. You can't call one a noob for being skilled in one of those areas. If you play SP you're tactics are going to be far different from what you "learned" in MP. Works both ways.

I play FFA cheating A.I.s only.  I'm not putzing around on minimum difficulty.  When the A.I. can builds ships, research and gain economy @ 2X, 3X to 1, it's fun for a few hours.   I play Sins to get lost in my own concentration..watch space battles... I don't feel like learning the tricks and gaining the rep it takes to master online play.  I'm older and lazy and don't feel like putting up with a bunch of kids non-sense.  "OMG why didn't u send ur titans so I culd cap teh planets."

Yes and no. Sure i'd play SINGLE PLAYER differently to MULTI PLAYER in most cases.. however i can easily do anything on a SINGLE PLAYER level because its balls easy. You don't actually learn mechanics or expanding quickly or anything else in SINGLE PLAYER unless you take the time to find out. In MULTI PLAYER you learn them by being trampled or whatever. I've said it before.. A SINGLE PLAYER will never beat someone who plays MULTI PLAYER - Unless the person is a MULTI PLAYER who plays some SINGLE PLAYER - Like me, Playerslayer or whoever else.. i play SINGLE PLAYER when i have no internet. Or i feel like playing god with cheating ai's.

Ps sending a titan to cap planets benefits you if you want to level it and not lose it to a fleet at level 1. Nonsense? well maybe you are entirely lazy then :/

 "i am better than you because I'm nerdier than you"

same old story. UssrAvA it may surprise you to find out that this is a game and is played for fun. Some like you have fun beating humans, others have fun stomping AI. Bottom line is it is a game.

lol... I meant it more as kids demanding you sacrifice your forces and position, so they can be successful, all the while nagging at you if you don't do what they want.

You won't be "playing God" with cheating A.I.s  Not the way I play it.  I assure you.  You'd win, i'm sure...eventually.
