Mods will not work on my steam game

I have never posted on anything before so apologies if i have put this in the wrong category. I have sins trinity through steam and have the latest updates so for diplomacy its v1.34, but when ever i try to load a mod the screen goes black for a second then comes back on as if the mod has been loaded but nothing changes at all so for example. when i load the sacrifice of angels mod the menu doesn't change, the races don't change. nothing happens and this is really infuriating as i can't find a problem or solution anywhere so someone please help before i launch my PC through a window.

Also when i do click enable mod, the enabled mod checksum path just say 0

First off it sounds as if the mod isn't being registered at all with a checksum of 0. Check to make you don't have the mod in a double folder (a folder with a folder) as that is a common mistake.

I sorted it cheers guys but now i have a different problem. Ha. i start playing and as soon as i zoom out a bit i get the memory dump error even after i have added the latest patch to the sacrifice of angels mod. any thoughts?

And yes it was in a double folder my bad.
