This is the first time I have booted up sins since the newest update but is it me or is the VL titan not firing phase missiles? I can see that it should be firing phase missiles from the info card but I don't see them actually getting fired from the titan, which brings up the next question of are they counting towards any damage in battle?
They have a different particle effect from other phase missiles. They were originally "phase cannons", but players complained that this along with a "Pulse Wave" weapon meant half of the titans weapons were uneffected by research bonuses. So they reclassified them as normal phase missiles and wave weapons, but kept their unique graphic effects.
Further all weapon effects are purely cosmetic in Sins. Even if there were no weapon effects a target would still take damage.
Secondly, I'm currently playing a 4 FFA game with 3 AI's, mostly engaged in very costly war against an Advent loyalist side. Every now and then I notice that when my fleet jumps into a planet a couple of my ships decide to jump ship and join the advents side, without the presence of their titan (which I think has this sort of ability) in that particular gravity well, is this normal?
Advent Loyalists have a unique tech called cowards submission where if hostile ships leave the gravity well of a planet they own, there is a chance they'll capture some of the ships. Its actually one of their best techs. Its also a good reason to try and play every race once so you know what sort of toys they can use against you.
Thirdly, Minidumps are happening to me roughly every 30 mins, anyone else experiencing this? I verified the cache just before posting this because it's getting very annoying, nearly nailed the advents titan and boom minidump
I have not had any minidumps in 1.031, though the devs have said they fixed a few crashes for the next patch. What is your RAM usage when they occur? In the past reducing the graphics settings has helped, though I thought they optimized things so this should no longer be necessary. Could be worth a shot though.
