So:

I hear alot about bomber spam. Im trying it myself. Kind of cowardly, no doubt, but it works. It feels cheap though. What % bombers/fighters do you use? Do you have any close range attack vessels or do you run around the perimenter of the grav well while your bombers do the heavy lifting?

What speed do MP games take place? How is that controlled? I dont see how people are able to have large fleets/lots of caps and be able to micro the cap abilities. What are you playing at, speed 1X?

Regarding bomber spam--you're probably going to want to run your carriers around the perimeter and keep them away from combat if you can.  As with anything, bomber spam can be countered, especially by a defending Vasari (phasic trap ability on hangers).

The standard settings for an online multiplayer PvP game (no AI) are:

Locked Teams

Normal Fleet size

Pirates Off

Quickstart on

Faster for all speed settings.

I go either all bombers or all fighters...as far as I'm concerned, it's an all or nothing deal...anything else seems pretty wishy washy to me....

I do about a 93/7 ratio of bombers to fighters

Just a few fighters to help keep the numbers of enemy bombers down

Hmm bomber spam isn't cheap at all.  It also has several serious counters, even late game.  Ever see what 50 flak and 50 LF with close factories nearby can do to bomber spam?  Don't forget a corvette swarm as well.  Attrition is how you deal with it, and it works. 

Its just wicked. :)

bomber spam is the most balanced its ever been, and i'd go so far to say that it is quite balanced at the moment, and not a real concern for any balance changes in rebellion.

If you find yourself not being able to counter bomber spam, look at your strategy.

No I havent seen it..What do Light Frigates (LF) do against bombers? I thought only flak frigates damage bombers. What are corvette swarms good for, dont they die en masse in the face of AoE?

Are fighters really effective against bombers? I mean, the carriers just rebuild the bombers in no time. How many fighters do you need against 100 advent bombers for effective suppression?

LFs don't do anything to bombers - they are good at killing the source of the bombers though...

Fighters are very effective. You need roughly one fighter squadron for every two bomber squadrons. Thsi will knock out enemy bombers fairly quickly.

That assumes no enemy flak eating your fighters...

Early bomber spam can be dealt with via corvettes + disciples...if coupled with titan, that's a little more difficult, you'll have to go with fighters, flak, and/or corvettes (flak and corvettes would be microed to avoid titan AoEs)....

Late game though, the only thing that's really effective is multiple caps with anti-SC abilties...that's multiple Kols, Halcyons, or Kortuls...fighters/flak combined with multiple anti-SC caps will work pretty well, though you may lose some caps depending on what faction you are and the stats of your caps (number/levels)....
