[MAP] Mass Effect Galaxy

A galaxy forge made map for Rebellion.

Hi guys.

I've spent the past few days of my life creating a nowhere near perfect representation of the Milky Way in the style that Mass Effect makes it.

What it has got:

33 stars of Mass Effect goodness

7 different players (Human, Asari, Turian, Salarian, Krogan, Quarian and Terminus)

Maximum number of planets

Wormholes for relays (Each wormhole tells you which star it is going to)

Lots of space for everyone!

What it has not got:

Around 1/3 of the stars are missing thanks to the planet limit

Totally balanced locations (blame ME for that, as they put all the main races in one corner of the galaxy)

 Space Ponies

What I plan to do:

- Add picture to the start, as soon as I work out how (people who can guide me through are welcome)

- Find a way around the planet limit

- Find a way of allowing you to choose where you start.

FAQ:

Q: Why do all the planets outside my home system have such low alligence caps?

A: Due to (what I think is a) bug, if there is no direct phase links (system travel via stars), the game gets confused and can't work out how far away the planet is from the capital, so it puts it as -1. Nothing I can do there.

Q: Why is the centre of the galaxy an empty space?

A: There are no star systems in ME in the centre of the galaxy.

Q: How come the Terminus systems/Quarians have such a large area to expand into compared with everyone else?

A: Thats how the ME galaxy looks, I can't do much about it other than ruin the lore.

Q: Is this MP compatable?

A: It should be, I have not tested it fully, but I think it works fine.

Q: Where is the Citadel?

A: The  Citadel is an artificial (thanks, Pat_22_) construct inside Widow (Serpent Nebula), and has a max population of 7 million. This, compared with planetary population, is nothing. If you want, get someone to build a starbase there in its place.

How to use this map to its best potential:

Races:
Player 1 = Humans = TEC Loyalist

Player 2 = Asari = Advent Rebel

Player 3 = Turian = Vasari Rebel

Player 4 = Krogan = Vasari Loyalist

Player 5 = Salarian = Advent Loyalist

Player 6 = Quarian = TEC Loyalist

Player 7 = Terminus Systems = TEC Rebel

You can fiddle with those, but I find these most suit the personality of the races involved, while allowing one of each (at least) race and loyalty.

Single player:

Lock teams with everyone at war. Its not perfect, but its the best solution when you're playing with AI.

Multiplayer:

Terminus systems are not allowed to do any treaties with anyone else.

Asari, Turian, Salarian start off at peace with each other.

The Citadel was built by the Reapers, not by organic beings and certainly not by man.

Sounds like a lot of work went in there. Keep it up!

If you feel really randy about this, get some modders and make it into a full fledged mod, star by replacing the wormholes with Mass Relays.

Agent Exeider,

I think that would be a good idea, but I feel it would be a lot of in-depth modding, simply because I'd have to find some way of allowing you to choose which destination you would like to go, as having up to 7 relays in a system looks rather odd...

There's already a ME mod in development for Sins. :P

Midlifecrisi, they might take you on as a mapper while everyone else does the hard work of making ME fit inside Sins.
