Hi,
here is the scenario; my roommate and I are playing a LAN game of SINS:R v1.04. Via Steam.
He set up the game and the map (custom map, not in galaxyforge) and hosted it. I was able connect and play fine.... so far, so good.
After a few hours of play, he started crashing; Obviously this is a problem by itself and we have been researching the posts here etc. etc.
However, we were wondering - my computer is a bit more muscular - and maybe would hold up better.
Q1. Is there any way for me to host a game from my machine, starting with a save from a game that another machine was hosting?
If this is not possible, we would at least like to use the custom map he developed
Q2. Is there a way to move the map to my machine, so that I can start a new game using his custom map?
Please note: When we have tried the "obvious" approaches (for example, I load the saved game and try to host it) he can't join the game and gets a message that he doesn't have the files required to join the game.
Finally, yes, we have tried all of the standard troubleshooting steps such as verifying the set up in steam, we are not using any mods, etc. etc.
Any/all thoughts most appreciated.
