Registration popup through STEAM fails/locks up.

Any other users had this issue and manage to resolve it?

HAve already contacted support and STILL waiting for a reply.

Everything on my STEAM account is upto date and have verified the intergrity of the cache,  pressing play through Steam,  window popup comes up asking me to register with stardock, (which i already have with stardock through SOASE original). I input my current stardock details, press the popup register button which turns dark for a few seconds but then returns to green and nothing happens.

Its frustrating how Steam says Ive played the game for 72 hours yet i have not even played one second of the damn thing!

Here's my background info:

Got Rebellion on storebought disc.

Im not running windows7 or 8 just good old XP.

all my nvidia drivers are upto date.

can log into stardock directly via the website no probs.

Have also tried another user) suggestions of accessing the game directly within the Rebellion folder in Program files\Steam\STEAMAPPS using the admin rights, but still same outcome.

Anyone's tips of suggestions to try are most welcome.

*UPDATE* In case someone else is reading this looking for a solution,  I stumble across this resolution on the STEAM forum and Rebellion is finally working for me. Hope it helps.

"Exit Steam. Click Start > Run (or Windows Key + R) Type inetcpl.cpl and click OK.

Click the Connections tab.

Click the LAN settings button. (Note: You may want to write down the settings currently found in this window if you need to undo these steps later.)

If any items on this window are checked, uncheck them. Click OK to close any open windows and restart your computer.

Now, launch Steam and test the issue." Hope it helps.
