Good evening.
A friend and I have been playing a few matches of co-operative Sins, and for the most part it's been pretty stable. However, we've found an interesting issue that occurs when a player merges two fleets of substantial sizes into one fleet.
When ordered, the game basically hangs and reports as "unresponsive" from anywhere from a few moments to over a couple minutes, depending on the size of the fleets being merged. By the late game, we got the game to hang for long enough that we worried we'd be risking a desync.
I was at a bit of a loss for what could be causing the hangups, but when we finished our game, the end-game report had a pretty revealing explanation.

As you can see, my buddy's actions hit 37 MILLION each time he merged two of his fleets together. We were able to duplicate this three times in the game, correlated with the three spikes on the graph. He's reported that un-grouping the two fleets before combining them into one fleet results in no problems at all. It's only when two large grouped fleets are merged into a single larger one that the game hangs.
It could be circumstance that the user action chart correlates with the times at which the game seemed to hang. We will be playing another long game later this weekend, at which time we'll try and further prove or disprove our suspected cause.
Cheers.
