Problem With Rebellion

Okay recently I downloaded Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion (SOSER) from steam and then installed out and updated it. However every time I try to start it nothing happens. The game does not start intialize or anything. There is no loading screen or black screen. I am at a serious loss for what has happened. Any help advice or troubleshooting would be appreciated.

Start task manager and see if a process for it has started.

Ensure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for the game.

Make sure your computer is not doing anything intensive whilst trying to launch, as this will make it take significantly longer.

Additional info: What are your machine specs?
What OS are you running?

Also in steam you can verify the integrity of the game files. If anything is messed up, steam will fix it automatically.

Yeah this is basically the #1 thing you should do whenever you have a problem with a specific game in steam, it usually solves the problem in my experience.
