in gf when creating planets if RandomTrue...Fair is selected then the planets for a player will all be the same type of planet.  For example if the first discovered planet is a Ice planet then the others will be as well.

I think that is just coincidence, I've seen it work (at least the standard version, and I don't see how the fairs are any different).

You are probably right but it really never fails, ie haven't seen them split yet.  In my custom map I just went back to ice/volcanic random.
