Titan and Superweapon Synergy idea

Using your superweapons on a target planet with your titan in the gravity well of the target planet should have some additional synergies, because it would be badass.

Vasari:

Double the duration of the Phase node aspect of the Kostura Cannon.  This would improve the efficacy of all your kostura cannons as the duration would be longer then the recharge time for the ability, so you could do some creative phase node chaining.

Vasari would focus on dancing around the galaxy with their fleet, striking where their enemy isn't, and defending where their enemy is.

Advent:

Snares enemy fleet to 25%-50% movement in that gravity well and increases phase jumping time by 350%.  This improves the military use of advent superweapon so that it can trap enemy fleets so that its damage bonus isn't a total waste.

Advent would focus on trying to trap/slow enemy fleets and force them to engage on the advents terms.

TEC:

Doubles the planetary damage done by one Novalith shot.  Also, allows TEC to use their novaliths to target Enemy Titans and Starbases, instead of attacking a planet.

TEC would focus on brute force extermination via novaliths.

All of these ideas assist the developers vision, that the titans would act as the flagships for the fleet that would reign down destruction upon all the foes of their race.

Considering all the superweapon balances in recent patches, I think that an idea buff of this magnitude would really help them feel super again.

They can be super via synergy.

After all, a titan looks like its a moving city, so its gotta have other capabilities that capital ships can't have, ya?

Superweapon synergies, of course!

:)

Novaliths are a lot better with the recent patch and Kostura's as good as they were right after they stopped affecting ships. It's still the Deliverance Engine that needs help. The other two are more than worth deploying. In fact I've seen more games quit on superweapon construction warnings than anything else.

In other words, I don't think the problem you're calming exist is really a problem, and in the process you make another problem, titan imbalance, even worse. That is terrible game design.

Oh i'm not saying there is a problem.

i just want to suggest a bit more badass to the game.

There can never be to much badass.

That is true, but I'd rather the devs give the badass to things that currently don't have it, not the things that already have a good chunk of it. Mods can always fill that gap.

Mods really can't, imo.

Playing mods with people online is like watching paint dry.  If it were easier to get a large group of players online at the same time with the mod, and installing mods for new players, it would be far more viable.

Considering I'm almost exclusively multiplayer, you can see how mods aren't really an option.

That being said, adding an extra concept to the game design is good, imo.

Its a situation where everyone wins, singleplayers, multiplayers, modders.  Devs win because they add to their game in a great way, imo.

What's so badass about chess?

I'm not really sure how a Novalith targeting a ship would work, those things are hella slow. A starbase, sure, I guess, but it'd still have to be a really good shot, and wouldn't work against VR..

I do agree the DE needs a buff, like everyone else in the universe, however.

Advent Deliverance Engine.  Plays banjos and at the sound of the squeal, the population is decimated.  Forget flipping a planet, bend it over.

There's a well thought out, quality response.

That is, If I had just had a recent lobotomy leaving only my reptilian brain intact.

Sareth is so polite and well mannered these days. Cool idea though. Put it in a mod though, instead of the vanilla game.

Oh by the way, reading through to posts, I didn't mean to say that the original post was a troll post, i meant to say that the reptilian brain post I made was a troll post.

The main OP idea is totally legit.

FYI everyone.
