to the devs... why write rebellion in 32bit?

i mean, why write it "hard code" in 32 bit? there should be more than enough 64 bit win 7 OS's out in circulation to warrant at the very least writing Rebellion in code that would work better with 64 bit machines. Hell, sins itself came out when win7/vista was definitely about to be released.

Writing this stand alone game in a "Softer coding" that would perform well with win7 64 bit would have solved a lot of your headaches concerning that old fashioned 2Gig rule for memory.

I seriously would think that the devs who created this, rebellion, should be able to explain why the next "Stand alone of sins can't or wont be written in 64bit. The Gaming community has ALWAYS set the forward movement standard for non gaming computer tech. Just cause the darn business community is so damn slow to upgrade their crappy OS's and YES i do understand about profit and loss.

I'd just like to start a discussion about getting the next game or this game 2-3 revisions down the line to be more comfortable working with a 64 bit OS.

Thanks

The game engine was written in 2006. Not as many people had it then, and I don't think they were planning on being successful enough to be making expansions into 2012. ;) And there must be a dozen threads on this that have been debated to death already.

I'm sure an actual Sins of a Solar Empire 2 will have it.
