Help! I can't move the camera down or right!

Infinite sad! Help required! Please!

So I open up Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion on steam. I have dual monitors, but the first time I played the mouse was bound inside the window. I go to move down, nothing happens. I go to move left, nothing happens. However I can still move left or up. I figured it was just a download error, so I verify the cache and...nothing is wring. I tried closing the Evolve overlay I had(I disabled the program), I tried toggling all the settings I could find, nothing.

I even tried using the arrow keys, and THEY won't move down or left. WHAT LOGIC IS THIS. The ONLY way I can move in those directions is to zoom out and then zoom to cursor. That's a bit of a pain.

WHY CAN'T I MOVE DOWN OR LEFT?! Regardless of if I use the keyboard or the mouse, it doesn't work.

Any suggestions?

 

Edit: Right, not left. My bad. Somehow I got that confused. Left is the unbound side where my second monitor is, but that still works fine.

I checked my keybindings too, they're correct, it just doesn't work.

Last I remember, there was a setting on the game that bound your cursor to the screen.  I might be wrong there.  You might also want to check if you have keys that do what you need.  Running the dev.exe resets your settings, so you might want to try that.

I don't know, I don't have a dual monitor setup.  But those are things you might want to do.

I reset the settings using the "Reset all" button at the bottom. the keys are bound. I'm not sure how this is working.

I don't think other people with dual monitors have this issue.

due to me having had this issue before(when i had 1 screen), i'll ask a few things to see if its exactly the same.

Is this only on 1 specific map or is it on all maps? are you able to move your camera towards the stars side only? and when you are right on the star all move sides work?

Also, have you tried playing on just 1 monitor?(Keeping sins to 1 monitor, having the 2nd plugged in just not with sins) 

because I also have 2 monitors but only 1 using sins and its working perfect

Just randomly throwing in my 2 cents here,

It seems on certain maps that there is a 'edge' of the map that if you touch with the camera it gets stuck.

I'm not sure how it works but try focusing on the star and moving around and see if it works. if it does then there is the problem, if not then I got no clue

Sorry I took so long guys. I tried it out on a single star map and it seems to work fine.

If I go on the center star on that massive five star map I was on it has issues in my little solar system, but on the center solar system it is fine.

So yes, it's the 'edge' of the map...The pain is that there are planets off the edge, and I damned well want to get to my planets.

Does anyone know a fix for the map edged? Maybe a way to expand them a bit, or something like that?

It's difficult to play when you can only scroll to part on the map...

 

Thanks for helping me figure out the issue, even if there isn't a fix.

Well, only fix I know of is not playing that one map anymore...I can't remember how and if I fixed it last time sadly, but IIRC I had the problem on a map where some of the planets were off the edge of the radius of the star(I accidently did this in GF(Galaxy Forge)), and causing some problems then. What map is it btw? So I can try it out myself? Or is it your own made map?

I don't know about random maps, but there is a star radius parameter in premade maps. If hitting that is what is causing the issue, it would be pretty simple to make a copy and increase it for future games. For that save however you're out of luck.

This was a randomly generated map, actually. Just go to the highest size and select random multi-star. It wasn't a specifically named map.

I would hope pre-made maps wouldn't have a bug like that...
