They're talking about Large Address Ware, but it is not guaranteed to work with Sins. Some people say it works for them, many have said it doesn't, or causes other stability issues. Try it at your own risk basically.

Seriously Gofan is right. Large Address Aware is an old beaten down topic here. There are many threads about it. LAA AFAIK is mainly for windows XP systems, and if you use windows 7 you really don't need it. I could be wrong, but i do know that LAA only worked for a few people. For others it did absolutely nothing, but make the game more unstable. If you do use LAA, and it works for you then great. I suggest you study LAA, and research it real good before you try it though.

If he has a second standard HD it probably would be better to put the page file there. SSD's are good, but from what i hear they don't last very long if they are constantly being written on.

You aren't really missing out....7200 RPM HDs still do their job and last longer...

If I may ask, why do you want to exceed the 2GB limit?  Is it because of modding content or because you just want really really really big games?

Could be an issue with the mod, especially if you are on highest graphics as some mods don't support those...but if you are really sure it is a 2GB wall issue, then I don't see much loss to you for trying it...sure, it may hurt stability of the game (operative word being may) but if you already hit MDs then you already have stability issues...couldn't hurt to try....

Of course, if you have to have linux to do it then obviously that may be a problem...

I adjusted the settings in a mod im playing atm and since I lowered all the settings to medium, its stable at 1-1.2GB of ram use and doesn't crash anymore
