Un-nerfing the VR orky

I've been looking at un-nerfing the VR orky so it doesn't have that "nyah nyah you're a sissy now" debuff when it jumps systems, but I'm really not sure where to find the entry for that.  Even if I could change it so that the debuff only lasted a second I would be quite happy.  Could somebody point me in the right direction please? :)

you could have a look in 'BuffPhaseStarbaseSameOrbitbodyDebuffRecourse.entity', it has a line that has a duration of 600( 10 minuites) assuming it is in seconds

and I also suggest creating a mod and puting your modified file in the mod

Why not just remove the ability from the Starbase entity file?

and do yourself a large favour... choose a better topic title that indicates that you want to mod it.... and that you not want to have it unnerved by the Devs.

That way you could avoid a few death by NERDRAGE on this forums... :P

I found that file late last night before I was about to give up and that's where I was going to start my un-nerfing adventure (and yes in a mod lol).  Change it out so it lasts only 5 seconds or so, then I can make sure that's indeed the one I want to change.

Cause I don't know how to do that, haven't played with the starbase entity files much, hasn't been a whole lot I've wanted to change up until now. :p

Nerdrage posts would still have bumped my thread and got people to look and read it, so I think my tactically worded title worked out well in my favour. :D

Open it up, delete the reference in ability 4 (at the top of the file)... and that's it. You're done.

Yeah but they'd be multiplayers, not modders. ;P But no, zombie's right, clearly putting it in the modding section kept them away.

I'll have to try that then when I get a chance, see how well it works.

Has the Orky been nerfed much otherwise since initial launch?

Only the tech has been made progressively harder to get.

Bah, I'm a research heavy player anyway, guess I can live with that.

Well I just happened to open the file up, and this is the exact line.

ability:4 "AbilityPhaseStarbaseSameOrbitbodyDebuff"

Change it to ability:4 "" and you're good to go.

I'm not necessarily claiming this thread is bad, but I personally find it hilarious that people spend months bitching about OP jumping orky's and clamor for a nerf. Then it gets nerfed and now I find someone looking to un-nerf it. Not saying it's a bad idea per se, just a bit funny to me.

I play purely singleplayer and have never had a problem dealing with them (and also enjoy using them), so the lack of dealing with people cheesing them in multiplayer probably changes my opinion a bit. :D

That's because the AI can't use them. ;)

Guess that's probably why it has never been a problem for me, minor detail. :D

Why not?

They don't seem to realize their starbases are capable of jumping, hence they never give them a jump order.

Drat...Oddski beat me here....by almost a month...that's what I get for playing perfect world all day I guess...

Anyway, glad to see somepony out there still has some love for the vasari empire.  With that debuff, the need for building-killers really becomes apparent for the vasari.  Their SB is supposed to be a structure killer, and it LOSES power during its initial attack?  I would have prefered a short term buff myself.
