[bug] Ragnarov titan missles no damage v1.1.4480

Playing version 1.1.4480 and I noticed that the TEC Rebel Ragnarov Titan is firing missiles but they are not doing any damage.  it is easy to overlook as these missiles are often fired at objects also being hit by the autocannon.  I noticed the bug on chance by see it it pass a roid where only the missiles were fired and the roid remained in perfect health after about 25 missiles slammed it.

I find that... unlikely. Keep in mind weapon affects are purely visual in Sins, there can be some delay between when you see them hit and it takes damage... especially with missiles. Also was it a Vasari extractor? They have the ability to temporarily phase out.

That doesn't negate damage (only reduces it), as the structure is still in normal space...though it could screw up your targeting priorities as that ability forces a target repick...

Best way to find out is to use dev.exe...there is a way to track all stats of a ship, including DPS....modding out the other weapons would make it easier to isolate the missiles....

I am aware that effects are visual, however there was zero damage of any kind and I definitely waited more than long enough to verify I was not overlooking delay.  Since then I have been trying to see it again, but I have not had a chance to catch the missiles hitting a target that the autocannons are not also hitting.  That is making it hard to verify 100%.  I Will take the route Seleuceia suggested and mod out the other weapons.

The Delay is not a conventional delay  of "damage happens a few seconds after weapon hits for each weapon".  it more a matter of every X seconds the engine chesk which weapons have been fired recently and applies all of the recent hits simulataneously.  So it's very likely that missile damage and Gauss damage will be process and cause only a single hull drop(though the magnitude of the health drop is the sum of the 2 weapons.

Honestly for a titan as heavily used as the Ragnarov, someone would have noticed by now if one of it's weapon systems were bugged.  Also frankly even if it were bugged, it shouldn't be changed as the Ragnarov is already one of the stronger titans(damage could be moved from gauss to missiles, but totle DPs shouldn't go up).

Okay guys, I can confirm that the missiles are indeed doing damage, it was very hard to determine until I followed Seleuceia's recommendation and mod out all other weapons. I am beginning to think the bug was the other way around... as in the missiles graphically fired on a target that was actually not really being attacked. I do know what I saw and there was no mistaking that I saw missiles slam a target and it not take damage. Of course simply modding the game might actually get rid of the bug... that's just how bugs work sometimes. Some bugs only appear when a certain combination of conditions are met. The other explanation could be that my game was just buggin out on a random thing and what I saw was just a one time event. Of course I might be crazy too...

Yeah. Thanks for doing that test though. One time it took someone doing the kind of intensive testing you did to determine illuminators had a bug that caused them to do extra damage, which caused them to be OP despite repeated damage nerfs.

I apologize, I should have been a little more responsible than knee-jerk posting something that I thought was a bug.  As  an IT professional I usually hate it when colleagues do exactly what I did here and don't bother doing their due diligence.  I modded the sins since its first game so its not like I am just other gamer reporting a bug.  In the end I wound up wasting peoples time being presumptive when other explanations are available.

Bug or no... that ships definitely does the "Slam-Bam-Thank-You-Ma'am" damage.
