Hello everybody.
My friends and me wanted to prevent rushing other players in the beginning of a game.
So we created a 4 players universe where each player has his home planet connected to 3 planets and one of those planets is connected to a wormhole. The wormholes connect to the center of the universe where a lot of planets and asteroids can be found. This way, you would have to invent wormhole travel before expanding into the universe.
Playing with my friends this works as expected and it is quite fun to finally strike into the heavily fortiefied home systems through the wormholes.
But playing with AI, I am travelling through an empty universe until the wormholes behind which the AI bored itself to death.
It is only sending some scouts, so it definately has researched the wormhole tech.
Reading through several forum posts, AI seems to be able to use wormholes with larger fleet as well.
We've tried replacing the wormholes with stars, but because you can travel from one star to any other, the center universe is not needed to be explored to attack other players.
So my questions are:
- Do you know why my AI does not want to expant through the wormhole (is it maybe an issue of ai difficulty)?
- Is it possible to limit star-to-star jumps to defined stars?
Thanks in advance,
Tundratier
