Friday late night issues

My friends and I try to play Rebellion most Fridays starting around 11 pm. Sometime around midnight, the game turns into an unplayable lagfest for at least a half hour, sometimes more. If we try to quit and reload, we can't rejoin the chat lobby, or start up a game. Is this a known issue, and whether it is or not, please fix it. Fast.

It's been an issue for 4 years.  Small dev has crappy MP servers/interface.

 

Don't think it's getting fixed, unfortunately.

 

Edit: not that it's always this way, it's just a common ailment.

They only lightly check the forum on weekends. Just bump it on Monday.

I guess it depends on what time zone you're referring to. Backup jobs run during the night at some point which last about an hour that will slow things down.
