I'd like to post replays but I minidump 9/10 good games I play.

Sorry.

It's gotten so bad I had to clean up my stream of all the games I minidumped in, and I only had 7 left of the 20-30 I streamed (2 are even from september)

I think mini-dump thing has plagued most people as-well so please do your best to post the game record files here  :digichet: .

Start us off RiddleKing and post some replays

RiddleKing just wants us to post replays because he knows he would get utterly graped (while he would be the last to admit this) when hopping on ICO. All these stories of his about fleet synergy are such utter nonsense when it comes to multiplayer Sins.

Still waiting for one from you. Get the ball rolling!

I would post a replay of me 1v1ing Radio....

Or of me in suicide fending off 2 Chinese...

Or of me solidly frontlining against tier 0 and tier 1 players...

But then I'd hurt my chances of getting the Seleuceia tier...

I have nothing to post because i have never played a meaningful sins game in my life. I'm so ashamed of myself to be feeding off everybody else's replays but never the less i still want them. I spent the better half of rebellion with my cousin, formatted by drive after it crashed and i lost everything (this is the honest truth :(  ), Now im replay-less  haven't had a lan party because of my new job and the cousin i play with at home is off to finish off his masters. All i have enjoyed of sins in terms of ico is 0 because of my bad ping ever since the beginning and i can't express just how difficult these months have been.

I have had a total of maybe 10 unfair ai games in the last 3 months and im sorry to say i really gave up on sins.

My only hope is to be a tick and feed of everybody elses victories and mistakes in replays and yes i know its a sad life, a lonely road but im sure things will get better and i'll switch to the faster fibre ISPs.

Forgive me for giving you all a hard time on information that simply based on lan parties but i still believe i have a voice that can be heard-even if its just trolling 99% of the time but theres still hope for that 1%. Save me from my bottomless pit and offer your replays to me so i can feed my knowledge. It doesn't hurt to share the love with the community!?

Kind regards

RiddleKing (A.k.A: "Ai stomper" of 2013)

P.S

to troll is to always have something to say-even if its not meaningful and even if its mis-leading.

I think the idea of a new replay thread for new players is a good one.  If only some of the senior players wanted to be more helpful, this would be the place to post them.  Too bad all they seem to want to do is come here and make excuses...

I wonder why they are so bitter these days but i suspect things went bad for them when they got captain siddy banned. Now the forum is as boring as ever..

First off, there are replay threads...Ruby had a replay thread where he constantly posted replays of skilled games, though he recently has been very busy and thus unable to post anything...

Second, several skilled players are doing "mentoring", something far more helpful and time consuming that posting some replays...

Finally, MDs are really a huge problem....many players MD in the game...even if that doesn't occur, many players MD as soon as the game ends and thus have a corrupted autorecord (this is tied to a memory issue related to autorecording)...

I for one have autorecord off because I was so tired of having my game crash every time I finished a game...

I saw that thread.  Unfortunately, because of where he posted them, one needs to download and install an extremely intrusive piece of spamware that starts out by trying to install a toolbar and take over as your homepage.  Um, no thanks. There are other free solutions that don't come from such a suspicious publisher.

That is not a substitute for posting replays, which provide a broader perspective.  The idea is to let people watch a game and draw conclusions for themselves, not to just tell them what to do.  Mentoring is one approach, but there is no reason not to do the other as well.

Is this problem a function of multi-player, or your computer?  I auto-record some of my single-player games for later review, and have never had a problem.

Lol - you obviously clicked on the wrong download link on the page if that is what you got. It's a simple free file sharing website but it does come with ads for other stuff and you clicked on one of them.

It is a problem with ICO...MDs occur frequently in game...MDs also occur often right after exiting a game, though some people have them occur while in the lobby shortly after a game...turning off autorecord fixed the problem for me as well as others...MDs also can occur right when you try to shut down the game after being on ICO a while...

A dev once said there was a "memory flush" set to occur after exiting games and that was why sometimes people crashed in the lobby after exiting a game....could also be why you get a MD right after shutting down the game (from main menu)...

As for MDs in MP, it is an ICO issue....LAN games or direct connect do not seem to have the same stability problems...

Short answer: it ain't my computer...

No.  When you follow the link, an auto-download process begins, all the while telling you that "your download will start in x seconds".  That leads to the bogus installer program, for something called iLivid.exe.  Here's what others have to say about iLivid: "In its last evaluation of iLivid, the Download.com team decided that the software did not fully adhere to the Download.com Software Policies. We cannot recommend this software and do not provide a download link to it. Product data is presented for informational purposes only."

The same iLivid attempted hijacking happens if you click the big blue button labeled "download" right below the file name and above the "play" button.  I haven't checked, but given that one of iLivid's alleged benefits is that it allows you to watch a program while you are downloading it, I'm guessing that's another link to iLivid.  In other words, when clicking on a link to a file, you are not taken to the file, but instead to an intrusive and unrelated piece of software which is deceptively described as "your download". How many people just click through the process and wind up with some completely unrelated software on their hard drive?  Probably a lot.  Sleazy.

Now below that there is a second, smaller download button which leads to another download program, STILL not the actual file itself, this one being Rocket Download driven by another program called Optimum Installer.

All of these processes are fraught with security risks, and the fact that the site attempts to gain access to your hard drive for multiple programs through deceptive layout and misleading descriptions does not make me more inclined to trust it.  There are other file sharing sites that don't require the same level of blind faith.

So no, I didn't just click on an ad by mistake, "LoL".  I am very careful about what I click on and when, and which publishers I allow access to my hard drive.  If that means I can't watch replays posted by RR, that's a price I am willing to pay.  Of course, that is why I would like to have seen some other replays posted in this thread instead.

Lol...dude idk what your problem is or what bogus internet browser you are using but when you click the appropriate download button (small one below the bigger buttons) the download of a Sins autorecord is prompted...

I just tried this...file is correctly downloaded and everything, has expected filesize and extension....

While I do not retract my comments about 2Shared (they are shilling for iLivid), your response did lead me to do a little more experimentation.

It turns out that if your downloader is not on 2Shared's list, they will try and direct you to their preferred partners.  Evidently the program I use for work is not on their list.  So using CNET I found another one from a publisher I trust, and was able to download the files.

Still, there are other services that apparently support a wider range of downloaders, and would thus be of less risk and/or trouble for people just hoping to watch a few games.

Every game I have downloaded from that other thread also seems to be a 5v5 in a relatively small universe.  It would also be more interesting to see some FFA games on larger maps, or even replays of single player games.

my biggest concern with Seleuceia is your scope of this game sounds so well sometimes but you fail when it comes to replays even when you are repeatedly replied to by some of the pros like JJ, Siddy etc that replays help those who understand them. Its like saying practice makes perfect but watching other players playstyle does not. That's a very narrow way of thinking because the 2 enhance one another and here you are spending time on this forum bashing something that helps others apart from yourself. Im not perfect in anyway but i rather enjoy replays-esp masterials diplomacy replays.

So lets all get back on topic than continue to avoid the issue.

If you don't have a replay to post then be somewhere else doing whats best like complaining about MDs and how riddleking is so messed up in his universe. With that thought i now take back everything i said about selecuceia so i don't expect a response for something i just wrote (even know im not going to delete it.) Thank you for your patience and time.

dont be an idiot and try dodge the issue. i still need your replays so wen u get time i wud like for you to share even md games.

I haven't played sins in a VERY long time.  I was no pro then and could only play sparsely.  I'm trying to get an issue resolved with my diplomacy purchase missing from impulse/GS client then will be getting rebellion.  Was hoping to get some replays while waiting in the current patch since I see they changed a lot with 1.1....not that I know anything about rebellions current strats since I haven't played it yet so I guess any will do.

Am I wrong or still this post has no real value as there is not a single uploaded v1.1 replay posted here? ... All I read was complaining and blaming each other for not posting.. What if there are players who would be interested in replays, even replays on youtube and not in this much complaining on MD-s and other stuff? (not me, as I have no time for watching them, I prefer the hard way and learning from my own mistakes I make in multiplayer). It's strange.

This thread at least needs 1 replay.

Here is 1 replay: http://www.2shared.com/file/of5wzd51/AutoRecord-01261442.html

It isn't ideal because one of the other team drops fairly early but they want to play on. I don't think the outcome would've been affected had he not dropped, just taken longer. It's one of the few skilled games I've had that didn't involve multiple crashes/dumps lately and didn't md on exit either. Even with 5v4 there are some entertaining fights I hope.
