A lot of people bitched about it, mainly that TL could block entire gravity wells with it....

IIRC, beta 2C was end of Advent...so Vasari also weren't out yet, and thus half the OP shit in this game wasn't even known...

Seeing that TEC Loyalist happen to be the weakest faction and that only the smallest gravity wells can be blocked, I propose to increase the range again.

TEC Loyalists are only race that has MAW counter....

To a degree....I'd say repulsion ain't too shabby when you consider you can only have ONE ankylon that can't possibly keep up with the VL titan...

Repulsion is also best counter to desperation and that is in many cases worse....

TEC starbase Ability range, the big red button or emergency override protocol, latter is official name i think, what can blow up your starbase when triggered with a time of 1-2 seconds after you order it, it deals huge damage to everything, doesn't matter who owns the thing, kills most strike craft, corvettes, frigates, cruisers, and even weak capitalships in range.

If you micro phase jump at right place repulse does not work....

Yes you can have only one ankylon but for unwary he will micro jump to your fleet and if you surprise him you have a window of opurtunity to run or try to smipe titan with fleet that is still there. VL titan with maw its at its best with hit and run tactic anyway but if direction of maw is not right it takes forever for titan to turn around.

Desperation on another hand is completely different story and until it is made to use AM it will be OP. Each shot should take 5 am of the pool.

I see several problems with your idea:

  • It does buy you 15 seconds.... as most skilled Vasari players first move their Titan into the right direction before jumping in.
  • There is no realistc ammount of firepower that will destroy a Titan in the very short time window you have.
  • You cannot outrun a Vasari... and jumping ships are breakfast for the Vorastra.
  • You can suprise him only once.

Then there is also the little problem that even without Maw and Desperation the Vasari fleet has more than enough firepower to send your TEC home crying. That the Anklyon does a very poor job doesnt help matters, either.

Well, if the splash damage was halved, that might work too...it would take at least lvl 2 (so a lvl 3 titan) to really be much of a threat, not so much different than the other titan AoEs other than VR....

How many time I used lvl 6 tit only to jump in micro jump eat and then run out without any support fleet. And I wasn''t the only one that did that. And yes 15 seconds is long enough to avoid maw at least with bulk of your fleet.

As for desperation and vasari fleet that is entirely different matter.

Even it is is possible to avoid Maw once the ammount of micro required to pull if off stands in no comparsion to the Micro needed for the Vasari player.
