Export SinsModels to 3D printable format

Hi, I work in a 3D printing lab and one of my pet projects is to make the ship models printable for fans. If anyone could post how to take the in game 3D mesh and export it as a 3D model I would be willing to edit the models to make them printable and post them on thingiverse for any die-hard fan to enjoy. So what do you say, can I get any help with this?

be nice to know what format you needed. I already did most of the trinity models in .obj and .exp for XSI and someone uploaded a lot of the rebellions models in .obj.

myfist0, from my limited research of the file formats, it boils down to what file formats the 3d cad that the uses is most familiar with that also supports outputing to the 3d printer, but obj seems to be one of the more common formats that can be read in by most of the 3dcads that can '3dprint'.
