Disable Cannon Spam

Is there a mod to disable prototype cannon spam? It's ruining my single player experience, and I've been playing StarDrive because of it. Just a simple mod to disable the weapon would be great. I've seen some others on a google search, but they are not working with rebellion 1.1!

Thanks!

All you would need is a mod that sets their abilities not to autocast as they are now. It would be simple for you to do this yourself.

Would I just delete the ability in GAMEINFO. And which ability? I then put the gameinfo folder into another folder, and shove it into the mod folder, and im done? I tried deleting the cannontech research but that didn't work.

No...you need to edit the four entity files (AbilityTechOrbitalCannon, AbilityTechOrbitalCannonLoyalist, AbilityPsiOrbitalCannon, AbilityPhaseOrbitalCannon) associated with the cannon abilities...

You need to change this Boolean

isAutoCastOnByDefault TRUE

to FALSE

Of course, in order to edit these files, you will need to know how to convert entity files from BIN format to TXT format....and then you will need to know how to set up a mod (where it goes, what to name your folders, etc.)...there are guides for both of those items...

Well, I made a copy of GAME INFO. I deleted CANNONTECH, and CANNONTECH LOYALIST. I threw the GAME INFO file into the mod folder. I enabled GAMEINFO MOD in my game, and now when I try to build a Novalith it says superweapon limit reached. So success? Or is there some other variable that's causing this lol.

Well, you didn't do anything we suggested, so I guess so...

No, there is a super weapon limit of 1 super weapon for every 4 planets (this was done because of the spam complaints). Your changes would do absolutely nothing, because if the game doesn't find a file in the mod's GameInfo folder it used the default ones.

The easiest way to do it is to simply get a mod that has this done already. Plenty of people have done it (though they maybe out of date), and if nothing else I have it as on optional add on for my Enhanced 4X Mod.
