Theory Crafting: Early combat upgrades.
So I've been testing a start where I delay getting LRMs and just grab corvettes and some weapon and shield ups so I can utilize all my lab spots for an eco-tech rush while still having a competitive military (the goal is to build a fleet that can defend my worlds. It doesn't need to be able to attack enemy worlds). It seems to work against the AI and on paper it doesn't have any glaring flaws.
This strategy is meant for larger maps where rushing is possible but not very easy.
Wondering what you guys think.
