If you would like to continue to enjoy food that you can afford, then I suggest you take the problems related to Global Climate Change seriously. Most of the food crops we depend on do not do well in severe drought or floods. And while the recent winter has been especially cold in the eastern US, it was extremely mild (warmer) in the western US. Climate Change is messing with the usual patterns in the jet stream.

It is not about whether your local area is getting warmer in a steady way, it is about changes in the global weather patterns (especially rainfall) that make it more and more difficult for people to grow food. Research the collapse of civilizations and you will find that many of them were in part caused by severe drought or some other climate issue that dramatically reduced food production. Historically, you usually can only support cities and advanced civilization when you have a reliable food surplus.

Watch what happens to food production in various regions around the world over the next 20 to 40 years. Like the melting glaciers, when the cheap food disappears, the "debate" on the reality of Global Climate Change will no longer matter much.

Until we have access to a second planet even half as supportive of life as Earth is now, I suggest the wise course of action would be to take care of our only realistic means of producing the vast amounts of food we humans consume daily--that we take better care of our current planet and its ecosystems, even if it costs some money in the short term. We need to be thinking long term. My 2 cents worth based on over 6 decades on the planet, a biology degree, and small farm experience. 

I'll keep watching and nothing will change...

Thought I came up against climate change while I was out yesterday... it got very, very warm, and I perspired profusely.

My hands got all sweaty and my breathing altered, became more laboured.

There were times when I felt like I was cooking slowly as I got warmer and warmer.

Then I realised after I got home that it was the sight of a pretty woman and I got all hot under the collar. 

As for floods and droughts, there's records of those throughout the Bible, which is not just a religous tome.  It is also a historical record of early history, corroborated by Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Muslim accounts of the times and region. 

Thing is, these floods and droughts occurred long before recorded history and have continues over the few thousand years since the period concerning the Bible... well before industrialisation and consumerism... the things 'gobal warmists' claim is causing temperatures rising, etc..  Bollocks!!!

Planet Earth is a dynamic ever changing, ever evolving ecosystem where floods, droughts, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions are part of the ongoing process of Earth's journey, and just because these natural events don't always suit the purposes and needs of mankind, doesn't mean to say we need to find man'made causes or to lay blame. They are going to occur with or without our intervention... and most certainly in spite of our interference to 'so-say' halt global warming.

Yeas, mankind needs to clean up its act, but for crikey's sake, let's do it honestly and not attach a price to if from which vested parties will seek to profit.

Oh yah, and that woman was so hot and sultry, I reckon she pushed the temperature up by 5 degrees.

It'd be too hard to dispute... and there's hot and sultry women everywhere, raising temperature right across the globe.... except perhaps for at the North and South Poles, hence the ice caps.

Now there's a thought!  With more and more hot and sultry women joining the scientific fraternity these days, and more and more scientific expeditions to the Poles, it's the most likely cause of the Polar ice caps melting.  Yup, that's the true cause of melting Polar ice, not 'man-made' global warming.

I would just like to say if the planet wasn't so populated with humans we would not be having this conversation, nor would there be any other human related problems.

IF there were such a thing as global warming - and that's a big IF in capital letters - women may turn to the oldest profession and prostitution may very well increase, but NOT for the reasons the congresswoman thinks.  Yup, that's a bit far fetched, like manure [read sh!t] from Venus. 

No, IF global warming were a reality [see capital IF above] men will get hot under the collar more frequently and need to get the 'dirty water' off their chests more often, and that's where yer enterprising women with a nous for business will seize the opportunity to snaffle a few extra bucks.

Yup, I can see it now... housewives with tight arse husbands, you know, the ones who give them a pittance on which to manage everything, putting up blue lights outside their front doors to attract business between 9 and 5 while hubby's working at the bank, etc... and hookers getting off the streets because they can afford a classier place of business. 

Yes, women would end up with a greater percentage of the wealth because blokes will be led into transactions of the nookie variety by their little heads, not the big ones. See, that's where women have the distinct advantage over men.  They only have one head, and thus they get themselves into less trouble.  I mean, how many women do you hear of before the courts charged with procuring a prostitute? 

I am so. so glad that global warming is just a fallacy, really.  For a start, I'd never be able to afford a prostitute... not even a cheap one if I have to supply my own Viagra.

First we should clarify that it is neither called "global warming" nor "global cooling", it is climate change. That is because this change might occur in form of warming in Middle East, Anatolia, Central Asia while some other areas like Indochina or Europe might cool down due to unbalance in the system. Yes, it happens regardless our activities, what scientists are defending however is that humans are accelerating this process so much. A change in temperature which should occur in thousand years occurs in hundred years etc. While 90% of the scientists agree on that, denying the human influence as a non-scientific person on the climate change is unnecessary.

However I doubt that humans will ever take action about this problem in near futur. Investing on far far away in futur is not human instinct.

Well, I dont agree that a two months old discussion should be considered as fossil. 

While you're shooting down the Bible for not being credible(and straight out of left field too), could you at least skip the proven meteorological phenomena?  I know it's hard to accept, being a global warming alarmist and all, the idea that strange weather actually happens and has fuck all to do with our activities, but it's true no less.
