SOA2 - CoH (Comeback of Heroes) Rebellion 1.8 compatible

Hi,

 

This mod is only for privat use!

 

Changes to original SOA2:

I wanted to fight also against other races and not only against borg. That is also why I tried to keep balance between races that all of them have a chance to expand their empire.

- AI increased for all races. Before AI didn't build any capital ships for Kiingons, Federation, Dominion and Romulan. They were researching only maxshipslots but not caputalships and were building frigates. Only borg could build their capital ships but not the other races. To see all races fight with capital ships I changed AI.

- I changed assimilation of borg. Borg were taking control of nearly all frigates and other NPC s couldn't expand any. Borg now only can assimilate when shields are down. Lower your shields and surrender :) . But without lowering shields they cannot assimilate. Only tractorbeamassimilation with eliteships can assimilate other ships even eliteships. But this was enough to give other races a chance to start normal.

- Borg combatlab had 12 civil slots. This was for borg impossible to expand. Cause of this you could see alot of money and resources sometimes > 100 000 but they couldn't use it. I changed that to 4 civil slots that they could build their culturecenters and combatlabs.

This makes Borg again hard cause they can get researches faster now.

Borg had also too much armor, that you couldn't fight with your eliteships just heavy frigate of borg. It was impossible to kill them. I reduced armor to an acceptable level. I gave also to all races weapons against borg. Borgvirus can use 1 support vessel and is more efficient against them. Also support capital ship got assimilation counter.

I also changed tractor beams a little to keep the balance.

- I changed the roles of Federation ships. Intrepid is longrange, defiant not capital ship anymore but very important to fight agains borg, Akira became support capitalship, exselsior carrier, centaur became shield restore and repairing, etc.

- I gave 1 homehangar with special fighters to defend homeland. Roletype is superweapon but it is not so hard. Just help at beginning not to be crashed fast. For all 3 planets you have you can get 1.

Take a look at your tactical buildings.

- starbases can move now only not that from borg. I changed this cause AI cannot put the starbase to a correct place. It stays sometimes too stupid that you can get the planet very easy. Starbase of borg cannot assimilate eliteships anymore. This was too hard.

- I put some new pictures and music. 

- Move of starships changed as mentioned before.

- new models, new NPC's and new gameplay

 

The mod ist not ready yet.

I updated the mod but still working on it.

I would like if some ppl could try and give some feedbacks. Especially ppl who play multiplayer games.

Against NPC's it works good but I am not sure about multiplayer games.

new features:

- Dominion polaron beam array penetrating shields and making hull damage

You should disable automatic fleet joining on the Fed scout as it will stop scouting and form up into a fleet formation whenever it jumps into a system that has a fleet in it.  Since it isn't a very combat-effective warship, this is a bad idea.

This I can change.

I don't use it for combat anyway. Only at the beginning agains pirates.

But I see you made it correct with downloading and it works with Rebellion v 1.52.

I want to present you Add On for SOA2 Version 1 with one video.

 

 

This Add On changes the gameplay of SOA2. At the beginning of this video you can see how AI changed dramatically.

It depends on AI if it will build more capital ships or frigates. But all kinds of AI now can build more capital ships. There is even one race (at this video Romulan) which built nearly only capital ships.

Second part shows how I changed moves of starships. It looks now realistic. Ships don't go till to the target like they would make suicide  stop at some distance and turn away. It is still fighter attack but looks much better than before.

Third part shows a battle against Dominion. Dominion AI fights with frigates and there are Jem'Hadar ships with polaron beams which can penetrate shields. Before they didn't. You can see that also other races become the chance to expand their empires. This fleet wanted to get an important planet.

Last part you can see a Romulan fleet with only capital ships. Romulan AI was building capitals. Very strong fleet which you cannot beat with your federation fleet.

 

This Add On gives all races the chance to expand their empires. Borg is still hardest but at least others races will get a chance to fight them.

New ships and modules so far coming soon:

 

Federation:

Ships: scout - Hermes, Nebula class cup for gemini effect, constitution class with captain Kirk original voice as Titan 1 for Federation, Galaxy class with Captain Picard original voice for Titan 2,

Modules: Titanfactory.

 

Borg:

Ships: BorgElipse as colony ship, Pyramide as Capital_Colony ship, Queens diamond with original voice of Borg Queen as Titan 1, Fusion cup as titan 2. New abilities and sounds for Borg. It will be only 1 Queen and not alot of Queenships anymore.

Modules: Titanfactory

 

Romulan:

Shps: Romulan warbird as Titan1, Kerchan class as Titan 2. New abilities and sounds for titanships.

Modules: New Romulan Shipfactories for frigate and capitalships and Titanfactory.

 

Klingons:

Ships: Titan 1 - C-9A class, Titan 2 - Neghvar, qeh'ral class as capitalship .

Modules: New Frigate and Capitalshipfactory for Klilngons + Titan factory.

 

Dominion:

Ships: New model for Jem'Hadar bug, Titan1 - Tenak'talar class, Titan 2 - Dominion Career.

Modules: Frigate, capitalshipfactories and 1 Titanfactory. New Abilities and sounds.

 

New gameplay with titans needs balancing and test still.

Andorian base you can find especially in asteroid belts. It will produce Kumari class starships. The base cannot be assimilated at borg. Borg shouldn' t get any profit from this it would destroy the balance. If I can keep balance I will also integrate species 8472,

The mod is still not ready. When it will be ready I will make a manuall to understand new settings and ships.

As I told before federation repair ship reloads shields and other repair ships (romulan, klingon and from dominion) are repairing the hull.

New NPC s with different abilities spawning during game and to fight at the beginning.

 

Old one : Andorian, Sona, Maquis, Talarian, Vulcan planet with defending vulcan starships and bases, Ferengi.

New : Bajoran, Gorn, Hydran, Lyran, Mirak, new Orion ships, new Sona base and ships, Suliban Helix and Suliban pods, new Talarian ships, Tamaria, Tholian, Xindi Insectoid, Xindi Aquatic ship, Xindi Reptilian, Xindi weapon - planet destroyer and Species 8472 (here better to run away). Trying to assimilate Species 8472 wasn't  good idea.

is the group of friends playing together if you use steam. We are playing also multiplayer games. I can add you to our group and can tell you how you can get the mod. If you don't want this I can send you a private msg.

I am still working on it. I would also like to add tellarites and maybe some more species. It is not like the other star trek mods with op Borgs and the game only how to defeat borgs with alias. Between player there is a good balance it means

Romulan, Klingon, Federation, Borg and Dominion.

You have to learn to fight against all of them not only against Borg and additionally there are alot of NPC s. But especially the new NPC s need a little optimization.

Unfortunately annoys me after 2-3 hours of play time a minidump. Do you also have a little?

Found cause. The "Ghost Fleet" ability in the Steamrunner class, creates a minidump.

It is easy to correct.

You need to change the name of frigates at BuffSensorGhostFleet.entity.

instead FrigateFedLightIll you have to write FrigateFedLight

and FrigateFedLongRangeIll only FrigateFedLongRange.

When you will start the game again you will not have this minidump anymore.
