"Record Game" results in Minidump

Sometimes, when I'm in the middle of a long multiplayer match with highly skilled players, I like to manually click "record game." The reasoning behind this is since there's a 50% of the game minidumping/disconnecting halfway through, I can't rely on the trusty ol' auto record. I might as well save whatever footage I can by manually saving now. Seems like a perfectly good idea right?

WRONG!

In 75% of all instances where I clicked "record," the game immediately ended in a MINIDUMP. Now this is highly irritating, as how else I'm I suppose to get the replay? If I stay till the game ends, I'll minidump. If I manually record, I'll minidump. Only option I see is just quitting early, but that just screws the team over.

Anybody else have this problem?

just a random thought from your question (though not an answer), maybe the recent resurgence of minidumps has to do with recording?
Can you or someone who gets minidumps turn off all recording and see if you get a minidump?

Sin, I constantly got lobby MDs after a game ended because autorecord was on, so I had to disable it...not exactly the problem you have but I can sympathize with your frustration...

Sithlord- This issue has been around before the patch, its just more prominent now because of more regular MDs. I can't turn of all recording either, because otherwise how else am I supposed to get the replay?

Seleucia- After you disabled auto-record, did you experience less MDs?

End of Sinkillr's quote

Yes...but to be fair, that was before v1.5x where I dealt with all that....it is quite possible that the specific behavior I experienced is version specific....

To be safe, I disable autorecord regardless...

Recently I have gotten MDs in the lobby (I know a lot of people hosting games have too), so autorecord obviously cannot be the only reason for lobby crashes....
