Vanilla SoaSE

v1.195

I've been looking around and have downloaded many mods for vanilla sins but none seem to work with the latest patch for it (v1.195). Does anyone know of ANY mods out there that will actually work with this?

If not, how about patching the game to an earlier version? (I still have the original disc-from 2008?-). How would one be able to patch to an earlier version(uninstall-then reinstall of course-unless theres another method of downgrade?)?

To any Stardock support staff that might see this post:

Can't get entrenchment or diplomacy back as the email accounts associated with the downloaded expansions were hacked/lost and hence I cannot validate my new comp(sadness).

I can still get into the Stardock accounts at least....

I'd email support to see if you can't get that figured out. Can't hurt.

Or just buy the latest. I think Rebellion is still on sale.

So there isn't any mods left for vanilla?

Not really. With almost everyone getting Trinity or Rebellion vanilla is now left in the dust.

Maelstrom was the last mod I know of that supported original Sins. I don't know if the recent patches for Vanilla were mod breaking so you might have luck with any that work with version beyond 1.1 or so. No promises though, and if there are any it is probably only one or two.

I have some. "Urban Expansion" ( a variation of Sins Plus) and "Hammer Real Sins" ( a pirate mod)

Go here and look ---------> www.RicksGalaxy.com on the Ricks Mods page.

Vanilla was much harder to mod than Entrenchment, and it has far, far less features and capabilities than it. Even then, there are more Diplo mods than Ent, vanilla is simply too ancient and limited.

I know, but, my comp's mobo crashed and and had to re-download everything. Since i bought vanilla as retail($40) and each expansion(Entrenchment+Diplomacy) as a download seperately (from, like, before using Gamestopp App for updates/downloads), I am having some difficulties getting the expansions back.

So I'm stuck with Vanilla for the time being.....and I just need mods to make that even come close to satisfying enough to play.

Maelstrom and Hammer mods work,(been using Maelstrom since R5-R6). Never tried the Hammer mod before-interesting though, and thankyou for the suggestions/replies everyone! :)
