I don't think there are new maps. Some new non-colonizeable planets and something called "Random Events".

There are no new maps. The new content may show up in random maps or pre-made maps that have random planet elements set.

I would make a backup of your Sins install first to be safe, as you'll need to update to v1.80 to get the new DLC content.

You should always assume it will break saves, and give a libation to Blair Fraiser in gratitude if it does not.  ;)

Actually, I think Mason did some wizardry to prevent save breakage, but I didn't test it myself.

So in order to see the most new content a random map should be played?

And at any time will preset maps be infused with the new content?

Tested didn't break my save file :)

Note: no guarantee magic will work for you all

To see the most new stuff I would recommend a multi-star map.
