Downloading Expansions

Semi-new and Out-of-Date

Hi, all.

I'm new here but not new to the game. I have SoaSE 1 and enjoy playing it. I wanted to know if there were any others so I searched online and found out that there are 2 expansions available to download. I searched for those and didn't get very far, but I did find out that Trinity includes both of them...

So next I searched for that and didn't get very far again. I came across a GameStop app thing. Its website said I have to download that to be able to download the games, so I did and registered. After that I searched on it but it said the games weren't found. That really annoyed me, especially with the fact I have very limited internet usage at the moment.

Now I came cross this forum, and I really hope you can help me!

Like I said I have SoaSE 1. If I am not mistaken, Trinity contains 1, plus Entrenchment and Diplomacy, and there is also Rebellion which is another standalone expansion, and the latest game. So what I think I need is Trinity, and then Rebellion to be up-to-date with it. Which leads me on to ask if it is at all possible to download Trinity, then Rebellion. If it is then that would be great; if not then I hope I'd be able to order it online to be delivered to my house.

Thanks for your time.

P.S. I came across this thread, but didn't want to hijack it so I made my own.

This is correct.

This is incorrect. Standalone means you do not need any prior versions, you just need to get Rebellion, as basically everything in Trinity in already in Rebellion.

The only real reason to get trinity is if there is some mod that wasn't update for Rebellion that you want to play or if you have friends that won't get Rebellion for some reason.

I also enjoy the nostalgia of Trinity.  Some of the cut scenes are in black and white (grainy in some places).  And you can see the wires holding the ships up during the battles.

Yep, those were the days.

backs out of the room slowly... (Yes this was a joke.  Don't hurt me.)    *_* :borg:

Well, that clears that up. Thanks, GoaFan77! I ordered it from off Amazon, and it should be here tomorrow hopefully. Thanks for the help.

Hi, RedDwarf999.

That reminds me of the cutscenes from Home World. That is a good game and I still haven't finished it yet. I regret I have only that game, though.

Wait, what did you order? In most of the world Rebellion is download only.  o_O

Either I did something wrong, or I ordered 'Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion (PC DVD)'.

Where is it shipping from? Did you buy it used? I was under the impression Australia was the only country that had a physical disk release.

If it is used, it is possible they are trying to sell you the DVD from the "collectors edition". However, this is not a proper edition of the game, as it doesn't come with a activation code on steam, so they are probably trying to scam you.

I know that Europe also got a physical DVD release in a regular plastic box (not collector's edition) through Kalypso.
