The ConvertData's Stopp working...what am I doing wrong?

So I am doing this all through cmd in Windows 7 and after a little tweaking; I get the ConvertData command to start working but I then get an error simply stating the .exe has stopped working?  What am I doing wrong?  I am trying to convert BIN to TXT.

I followed the tutorial on the Soase.x90x to do this and my Windows keeps telling me the ConvertData_.exe I am using stopped working whichever one I use.

Where did you get your ConvertData.exe? If the command line was able to find the .exe and the file you wanted to convert, it maybe that you have the wrong version of the ConvertData.exe for the files you want to convert. For example, using the old ConvertData.exe in the forge tools will likely crash on Rebellion files since the file structure has change. You can always find the latest version of the ConvertData.exe in your install directory.

I got them out of my Gamestop folder; I presume they are the up to date files and I am not using Rebellion I am still playing Trinity.  I have tried all three and all three stop running on me

End of Wraeven's quote

Are you converting a copy of the files in your install directory or are you trying to convert files gotten from somewhere else (say a mod)?

I am converting from my directory; but I have yet another complication.  I just d/l StarWars: Requiem Mod and once enabled it isn't working...methinks something is amiss here.

I am new to this whole modding thing, but I can't see what's going on; why I am having these problems

wraeven, the convertdata's stop working when they do not understand part of the file they are asked to convert (from observation of the reults of the convert sequence in my text-bin gui) and they do NOT convert the file they stop working on, in my mod updater thread is a achive of all my utilities AND the released convertdata's to the date of archiving( I supply all the convertdata versions due to this exact issue so that the mod updater can update mods from older versions of the expansions to the latest version of the expansion.

and a bit of advice, do NOT convert the game folders IN the installed location as this could possibly cause some problems.

have you updated your game?

if not it would be a good idea to do so as most if not all the mods have updated to the latest version.

Game is up to date.  It turned out to be some compatibility issue on my own computer...it was missing some file I don't recall which one, but it's fixed now.  Thankyou all for your patience in this issue; I am a MAJOR n00b at modding so, I will have a pretty steep learning curve.
