I'm Shekky been playing space turn based strategy games since master of orion back in the 90s got into master of orion 2 and really loved it. finally in 06 bought my first pc gaming computer and discovered gc2 around that same time and have been playing it ever since big fan of the series. Unfortunately MoO3 was a real disappointment as it lacked all of the elements that Made MoO2 really fun.

During the decline of the game Stars! I found Galactic Civ and never turned back... I was carried with the wave of expectations and entered into a new level of stellar conflict with Galactic Civ II and now look for an even deeper level of conflict with III.

I must confess, I pirated GalCiv I ... but yes, did eventually buy it legally, and then bought GC2 legally.  And today I finally caved and bought Founder's Elite.

I've been playing TBSes since the original Sid Meier's Civilization (no roman numerals).  Master of Orion II maintains a special place in my heart, and I also still occasionally fire up a lost gem, Interplay's Mechanized Assault & Exploration from 1996.  I enjoyed Sword of the Stars as well, but SOTS2 remains a disappointment even now, years after release and supposedly 'fixed.'

Been Playing 4x, Strategy games since dear childhood; Civilization, Colonization, Master or Magic were the holy trinity of my initiation to those games.

Been playing GalCiv since GalCiv 1 on windows. While I liked GalCiv1, I never thought it to be particularly extraordinary. But then GalCiv2 + expansion turnout out to be my all time favourite in the 4x genre. Slightly ahead of Civilization 4.

For this reason I purchased the Founder Elite edition of GalCiv 3.

i am 21 and a huge gamer.I been playing GalCiv since 2008 and i enjoy the series. its by far my favorite series to date. i have played SOASE and i have over 200+ games on my computer.

I cant wait to play GalCiv3.

I remember you Marvinkosh I couldn't figure out how to get that mod to work. Some of us just need to be able to download and play a mod. I do understand not all mods are made that way. P also found it hard to download and install mods in general on Stardock. I could use a guide on how to install and make a mod for Galactic civilizations 3.

Well maybe I can put together a video tutorial or something.  Using one particular mod isn't really too difficult, or at least it shouldn't be.  But across all the games I play at least, there are a lot of different mod installation procedures.  Some games, for example, do not like mods in ZIP folders, and some do.

I'm not really sure what sort of modding I'll be doing with GC3.  Perhaps an Even More Space Weapons mod?

Yeah.  I did that today, tried it out, worked great.

      Hello, all; glad to be back in what I consider to be a superb gaming family. I joined the group in 2006, and helped get the games out. Only a couple of tiny things, mind you, but proud I still am. This was, and I hope still is the most friendly and caring group that I have ever come across, and I'm sure that will continue. I couldn't afford the big one, so I will have to wait until after A, but after that, look out, so to speak. It already feels good to be in gaming home.

 I found GalCiv 2 at a store and thought it looked cool so I gave it a try and have been hooked  ever since. Just cant get past mission 3 in the storyline. but I have been playing on and off since buying it. I have the first Sins none of the expansions.

Hi all! I don't even remember how I discovered GalCiv II, but I remember I bought a boxed version that came with Dread Lords at some point before Twilight of the Arnor came out, and it immediately became one of those games that I always go back to several times a year. I play a lot of video games, but I suppose you'd still call me a casual gamer in that I enjoy games for the story rather than the challenge. Though I've never actually played any of the three campaigns in the second game and its expansions, I've enjoyed many narratives through custom games and it never gets old. The second game has given me many, many hours of enjoyment and that's why I chose to become an elite founder. I really want to support Stardock with value for the value they've given me!

I was going away and knew I'd get bored at points, I decided to take my laptop (Rubbish) and a game that it could run.

This was a last minute Idea and I saw this game on the floor I had never seen before, "galactic Civilizations".....huh I picked it up and left.

That weekend I discovered one of the best games ever because of the scale, the control it provides and the randomness. I think it was fate that put that GC there, I'm not sure why but I still have no idea how the game got to be in my room.

Naturally I purchased GC2 and bummed that all night. Thanks for reading.
