Is this forum absolutely dead?

Threads that could have been a three pager 1-2 years ago now have trouble breaking even the first page. The engaging balance discussion of the past is now almost nonexistent. Any replay feedback and skill tracking is also gone. Even the modding subforum seems to be breathing its last gulp of air. So what happened? Did the denizens of this toxic wasteland finally decide to move on due to life, fatigue, boredom, etc? Or is it just a temporaily lull, which the forum will emerge from bigger, faster, and stronger?

The modding scene is still going strong, it just so happens that most of the active large mods/mods in development, such as, STA3, SotP, Ascendancy, SoGE, and 7DS, have their own off-site forums and communities, and do not post updates here much. If you look at those mods' ModDB pages and/or forums, you will see plenty of activity and evidence of continued development. In the modding forum itself, the get an answer thread is pretty much the vocal point of the forum, as there are no new projects springing up and as it's a centralized location for asking questions and exchanging knowledge.

Also the main modding groups are much more integrated than they ever were before Rebellion. We do not post on the forums as much because there is more personal communication between modders via steam, skype etc. The rise of moddb also means that our audience of people who play Sins mods often do not visit the Sins forum, so more of our content is redirected there. Finally steam has caused most of the new players to ask for help on the steam forums rather than this forum, reducing another major influx of traffic.

Heck, just the beta patch being official released will probably cause things to pick up.

My friends and I were working for a local tangerine, but in six months, we never met anyone.
