Infinite Space crash/problems

Hello!

I recently bought Sins of a Solar Empire in a Steam sale and I downloaded the latest version of the Infinite Space mod.

Since it's for 1.82 I installed the 1.82 Beta and I followed all the installation instructions in the readme.

At first it seemed to work, but I noticed that there are missing technologies. I'm only able to research the colonisation techs for ice and volcanic planets- the rest doesn't show up in the tech tree.

The second problem is that the game chrashes after ~20mins without any error message.

Does anybody have the same problems or a possible solution?

Thanks

Hmm, I suspect it's to do with the mod relying on DLC's you don't have (Forbidden Worlds and/or Stellar Phenomena), though I don't know much about Infinite Space specifically. What DLC's did you buy during the Steam sale (if any)?

DLCs should not make a difference with mod compatibility. However, not all mods enable the DLC features. Since infinite space is itself a planet mod, it may simple use its planets instead of the planets from forbidden worlds, thus there is no reason to have the colonization techs the Forbidden World DLC adds. So are those the only techs missing, and have you actually seen a planet you could not colonize because you need one of those techs?

As for the crash, a good general thing to try for any mod is to lower your texture quality settings (ship/structure/planet detail), mods make it easier for Sins to hit the 2GB RAM limit and lowering this setting lowers the RAM usage.

Thanks for the replies. I don't own any of the DLCs.

I don't think you have to own them to get the mod working, because the readme doesn't say you have to.

Then what techs are you missing? Aren't ice and volcanic planet colonization the only colonization techs without the DLC?
