There are some serious balance issues still in the game that SD does not seem to care/know about. Namely, the SEVERE lack of starting capital ships, the complete worthlessness of VR, and not enough viable techs. The game is so boring at the moment because I know exactly what the other side is going to do. It is past time SD relinquishes balance control to somebody who actually understands the deeper elements of the game. Therefore, I think somebody that is familiar with both MP and modding will do a far better job than SD is right now. Or maybe even a council of seven where a majority of votes are needed for a suggestion to go forward. That way only one modder is needed and while the rest of the guys can be MP experts. This also eliminates any possibility for abuse by one person. Also, any members on the council must be familiar with forum politics, otherwise they would just serve as stooges for the more persuasive members. I have a few candidates in mind that have demonstrated consistent support and dedication to this community that would be most suited to this task:
