This reminds me of Evolution RTS' launch (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEmj2vwBedw), except that is a free game.

A Steam sale (or launch) is basically a new way of getting "slashdotted" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slashdot_effect), or is that called "getting steamed" now?
