Only ship to Paypal confirmed addresses. If you ship to a different address you lose your seller protection. If a buyer asks you to ship to another address, politely refuse and inform them of why. I learned this lesson the hard way.

It's an obvious thing, but you will save money buying and printing labels through ebay. They offer a reasonable discount on shipping compared to buying postage directly from the carrier.

In the advanced view of the listing creator you can set buyer requirements. I always block buyers with bad feedback ratings and a history of policy violations.

Also make sure you review the fees. Some items have different rates than the standard. Also Paypal charges a fee as well. Both the EBay and PayPal fee are based on the total price AND shipping charged to the buyer.

If the item is unique, the more pictures you include, the better. Also a detailed description will attract more potential buyers. Since you're new, it's best to give the buyer reassurance that you are legitimate.

Include your shipping terms and return policy in the body of the item description. EBay has standard ones you can include, but it's best to be as clear as possible.

One last thing, in a dispute, EBay tends to favor the buyer over the seller.
