I would love to see them added too. I was looking forward to that dlc.

They are in the splash screen.  This gives me hope.  Also bumping the post so others can chime in.

I truly wish that were not the case.  I have found most of your DLCs worthwhile.  Is there any chance of the aforementioned races making an appearance, perhaps in next year's update?

Come on Frogboy, I love you but you can't listen these loud mouthed curmudgeons who represent a mere vocal minority. I see these types all the time in every game community. I know, I know, Steam reviews, Steam's weird rating system, yadda yadda yadda, I understand where you are coming from. But your fans are the ones that will actually buy this. Besides, do you want Gal Civ III to go down in history as being less than what it could be just because of some jerks? These people will forget their complaints the day, but your fans will always cherish having this content. Besides, the Drath are my favorite civ,, we need them badly.  

Also, just from a business perspective, I think it makes sense to have periodic updates to give players another reason to start up a game. Look at some of your competitors in the strategy game sphere, Paradox has the best DLC model I have seen, with frequent DLC releases, both big and small, along with some generous free updates to the base game, subsidized by the DLC model. Stellaris has in particular has benefited from multiple smaller DLCs between their major expansion releases. Civ VI has also had a lot of DLC civs before they had Rise and Fall,

To a certain extent, Gal Civ may have had more of a curmudgeeon issue than these aforementioned games, but if so, it was probably tied to a general sense of curmudgeonry regarding the game rather than necessarily DLC in particular (DLC may have just been a convenient topic to latch on to). I think there has been a sea change in perception on places like Reddit after Crusade (and Intrigue has really put it over the top).I think the community in general is really happy and positive right now, which is great to see of course.

OK, all of that said, can anyone link me to this splash screen? I tried searching for it and can't find it. I can't believe I haven't seen this yet!

I'd personally love some more DLC since half the people complaining about the DLC are I can imagine people without a job or 14 year olds without one, albeit not their fault but still. So please do give us some more DLC like 2-3 races or 4 in a DLC since that would be quite fun. Paradox has one of the best DLC models in the Industry so I can imagine even the people who won't buy the DLC will at least get a nice patch to add some free content into the game.

The Drath old ship-style is available through one of the DLC packs.  There are also a few examples of this race that other players have created up on Steam.   So what's left, just the special abilities, right?  

I think a fairly easy to mod/implement special ability would be privateers.  The mechanic is already in the game for Commander upgrades.  What if the Drath had the ability to change any ship to a privateer ship?  That fits into their shady characteristic and adds a new element to the game.

These are impossible to validate or verify, its very well-meaning hyperbole.

Brad is making the best possible business decision he can, and he has more access to the actual information required to make these decisions. If anyone could really quantify the popularity (or not) of a given DLC, its him. A lot of the sentiment here, I share, but we should all be careful not to make assumptions. Forum goers are a incredibly TINY percent of the total consumers. 

The reviews have spoken, if the "vast majority" love the DLC, unfortunately the "vast majority" are also irrelevant, because they have not written reviews or so overwhelmingly bought additional DLC to convince Brad its worth pursuing over the negative reviews.

Personally, I have no problem with the DLC or the expansion model both have pros and cons... but I don't think rose-colored glasses help either... the expansion model of Crusade and then Intrigue have been far better for the game's reviews to date and apparently that's VERY important to Brad... he's a pretty smart guy, so I'm going bet on him.

Griping about his perfectly logical and reason-based decision strikes me as ... well... nothing good.

While I suspect the answer to having any tactical battles will be a "no X infinity", a review of the combat mechanics, the roles, and such, is desperately needed!

Even adding a "Retreat" button would be good. Saving a percentage of the faster ships seems plausible in space combat. 

Or pre-combat, add a 3rd option Quick Battle, View Battle or Run Away (with consequences of course).

If you do what Microsoft did with Halo 3 and have a different studio make your DLC, perhaps you could have the reviews separate on Steam. Of course the company would be run by someone like you with a contract from stardock inc.

I really think the reviews over all would much better if there are less posts in every forum ( there,  steam, anywhere) which discripe bugs or problem in the game which should have fixed for month or years. 

There things the devs are not able to fix or they want not to fix it. 

The best example is the galaxy creator. Since crusade it don't work anymore. No matter what settings you choose you got against zero habitable planets or a mass. You get never that you choose in the options... 

The forums are full of posts in this reference but nothing happens since month! It also looks like the devs are not really interested in those problem. Because the feedback in fact doesn't exist   For many player that's very disappointed and that was only one example. I think there are much players there stop playing because of this or even don't begin playing. 

With more interesting and fixes in this direction the reputation of the game would get a big push in my opinion... 

At the moment it feels like as a fan you are alone with this and there is no interest and no change that this will ever change! 

So in this reference it isn't a wonder that the reputation still not so good..
