If you are interested in finding a good space-based sci-fi show to watch, you need to check out the Expanse. It was on SyFy for a bit but Amazon recently acquired the rights to it and just finished up Season 4. The storyline moves between political intrigue and some crazy science so it keeps you interested from start to finish if that's your thing.
I concur; its awesome. Best space opera tv show currently and pretty much since BSG, in my opinion. Although Orville is quite good too, this is even better. I saw all 3 seasons so far and read all the books bar the latest one too.
