The "I played your games and now you owe me" vibe is really an annoying tactic I keep seeing on the boards here. Every time Stardock made a move or suggested a change in the past with Sins, this was done over and over. Every. Single. Time. It is right up there with Greta Thunberg shouting, "How dare you!".
First: don't pre-buy if you don't like it. Problem solved.
Second: Don't alpha participate if you hate it. Irritation avoided.
Third: If you are actually invested in seeing a Sins 2, understand ONLY Stardock is going to do it.
Fourth: If you hate Brad Wardell, you are out of luck. He owns the game. If you can't get past that, you're never going to be happy.
Fifth: If you think insulting, demeaning and divisive demands produce the best results, your parents didn't put you in the corner enough as a child..
Sixth: If you are really with the game happening and have passionate views, learn how to make an effective pitch. Recruiting online for protesters, calling the company greedy and stupid, insulting the CEO and acting as if they have to let you dictate a business plan to them--all while delivering egotistical tirades--don't show how interested in the game you are, they show how attention seeking and entitled you are. It's cyber "do you know who I am-ism". You become the new Karen.
I know I immediately get tired about the third time I read into a rant threaf. I doubt it motivates the developers any more.
I was in the closed alpha for Rebellion and by the second day there were a couple of testers having meltdowns and screaming. Some of them went on to start, "Let's all leave the game together" protest groups and swore they would never return (I already see a couple of them back picking right up where they left off, btw).
None of the childish asshat wailing improved anything thrn. It just made everything drama.w
And that frankly is what 90% of angry posting is.
There are two games being played here, the ones for attention and the ones trying to make the game happen.
Acting like adults gets a lot better results.
This isn't directed at any particular poster, just noticing a trend.
If they have to start with Epic (which is a business decusion), I will live. People screamed about Steam too with Rebellion. Now everyone loves it.
