How do you make the downloads automatically go to the proper areas?

I want the downloaded skins to just download to the right areas like it did when I had OD before about a year ago.

Like for example, windowblinds just downloads at a click of a link and it goes to its proper place (wiout having to hit 'save as' or 'open')

Help!

Open windowblinds program, and use the install from web function.

Same applies to most of the other programs.. open the program you want to download to, and use the link within it.

Hope this is what you mean?

Need more info are you downloading from IE, wincust browser, or stardock
central? Each has their own set up procedure.

I was wondering the exact same thing today! I used to be able to click "Download" on a WB skin, it would then automatically download and install to the proper directory, and I would get a small pop-up from WB in the systray telling me the new skin was installed. Now I have to download, navigate to WB and double click the .wba file. Thanks for the tip WrecklessEric, I'll give it a try.

I thought it was just me..My computer at work does that ( click the link and it installs the skin) It's 2K...My XP box at home actually saves it as a zip file and I have to change the extension to wba then double-click

Hashonboat... you can also use the "install from disk" link from within WB's, as it recognises wba and zip files.
I save the files in a desktop folder, then install from disk, navigate to file, apply....done.

(If I dont have the program open when I'm looking for a skin)

Mozilla has a great download mgr that gives you different options depending on what kind of files your DLing. Itusually asks if I want the default program [WB] to open. DL Mgr shows its progress and when it's done I get a message in the systray saying a new skin has been installed. The DL Mgr also gives diff options when DLing other WC stuff so you can choose how you want to open it and where you want it to install. Me like much better than IE!
