Few thoughts for future Elemental 2 game

It's very very good that Elemental game was reforged! Let me dream that the new game will be even more heartful unlike the soulless Age of Wonders.

Make the future game more dramatic and may be even more romantic. May be add some quests about relatives.

What I can suggest... The game has Units, that consist of Figures. Let every Figure be a unique Hero. So we recruit Figures in Towns and place them into Units. The most valuable figures are assigned as Commanders of the Unit and can give command benefits and cast spells. The figure of the Commander dies last in row. If a Figure dies in combat, it can't be healed back. All dead Figures take a record in a Memorial to let a player to remember of those who gave their lives for the final victory.

Let Figures be awarded with medals, titles, nicknames and ranks to emphasize their personalities.

Remove immortality from everybody.

Make injuries and buffs temporary. Discourage players from multiple slaughters per 1 turn. It's also dull to see AI heroes with lots and lots of injuries. Let them be temporary.

Let enemies surrender and imprison them. Your allies, relatives and even you may be imprisoned and rescued or bought out.

City governors should be a must to prevent uprising. Let there be a spy trained person who may infiltrate the enemy city or protect your own.

Allow manual troop deployment before battles.

Your humanoid races are perfect. Don't add any rat, reptile, bird and other like races.

Sieges may be improved.

All troops and wepons should have obvious advantages and disadvantages. Pikemen are good against cavalry but fail against archers. Swordsmen with shields kill archers but fail against cavalry. Heavy cavalry smashes archers but fails against crossbowmen. Horse archers kill crossbowmen but fail to archres. And so on.

Make big elements of interface. Show the beauty of models. Allow bigger fonts.

I like the new realistic models of all races. Continue in this way. Make race models that can conquer players hearts. Don't think of quantity but of quality.

I also hope you already have lots of plans for the new Elemental 2 game. I wish your games reach top ratings among TBS games.

The list is long, but one item on it carries the rest: the memorial, and the refusal to heal anyone back. If losses do not stick then everything else you ask for is decoration.

The trouble is that your counter table pulls in the other direction. If pikemen beat cavalry and cavalry beat archers in a clean circle, a dead figure stops being a loss and becomes an arithmetic error you should not have made. You cannot really have the memorial and the tidy triangle at the same time. I would keep the memorial.

Worth saying too that the heart you are asking for has been attempted here before rather than overlooked. War of Magic put the dynasty at the centre, with marriages and children and a line that carried on after your sovereign, and the ambition was not the part of that game that failed. Sorcerer King went the opposite way afterwards, one antagonist who talks to you and taunts you through the whole campaign, and it got more personality out of a far smaller canvas than the big family systems ever did.

So my worry with a list like this is not that the ideas are wrong. It is that the character tends to come from the one thing built properly rather than from the fifteen that got listed.
